Commentators comment. Shooters shoot. I've shot the Walther PP, and PPK a lot. They shoot to point of aim, I like the safety and DA/SA setup, and find the recoil minimal. I do not care for the PPKS.

But but... The PPK/S is just a PP with a PPK slide and barrel. How can you like the two but not that one? Unless for "purist" reasons?

I think that because his username STARTS with an S he doesn't like his guns to END with an S. At least that's my theory

Carry my DS most every day. Most folks wonder why. "It's a Colt...they don't make 'em anymore"....Meh...it'll out-last me...

The PPK fits my rather large hand with the pinky UNDER the grip. It kind of anchors my hold on it. The PPK/S, holding one more round, leaves room for exactly HALF of my little finger. I never know what to do with my little finger when I'm shooting the PPK/S. Also, it seems that extra length required for the extra round is just enough to make the grip dig into the fat hanging over my belt.

And now you know the rest of the story. Gooood day!

True. To illustrate the point, both the PPK and the SIG 238 fire the same cartridge, .380. There is a big difference in felt recoil between the two weapons. The SIG 238 is soft and sweet. The PPK, like all other fixed/pinned barrel .380's, has more felt recoil.

Hoji, how is it shooting that 380? I would like to hear a first hand account.

I have a 25 and 32 Seacamp and was going to get the 380, then I heard that they were very hard on the knuckles.

    What has been your experience?
It sucks as a range toy. As a carry gun it is awesome.

I shoot the magazines I have loaded every six months at 2-3 yards( the range I would most likely have to use it) to refresh my muscle memory and that is all I shoot it.

I had one of these many years ago. I think I bought it at McBrides in Austin in 1980 for $25. Turned out to be fairly worthless. It was chambered in .22 short and had a smooth bore barrel. Problem was, it would only fire the round after 3 hammer strikes. But it sure did look good.
I believe they were made by Butler, who was bought out by Colt. As you say, they are good looking, but I've never shot it.

My Dad bought it at an Austin gun show for $20 maybe 35-40 years ago. When he walked into the house my Mom (who didn't care much for guns) said "That's mine!".

Bought a box of shorts recently, so I just might take it out one of these days to see if it actually works.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like you have a solid strategy there.
