So... back a few months back when S&W was doing the rebates, I picked up a M&P 2.0 Compact in 9mm. Before I did so, I called S&W to verify the rebate is applicable to the 2.0 compacts. The rebate included 2 boxes of hornady critical defense, 2 extra mags and a mag charger. Well, I finally got my got my rebate and found that the mags they included were the full size 17 rounders and not the 15 rounders that the Compact regularly takes.

I thought that was strange, so I call up S&W thinking they made a mistake. I was then told that the Compact magazines are not ready yet so instead, I got the full size mags. I was also informed that they included the magazine extensions as you can see below in the photo.

I don't know, just seems kind of half assed to me. I have been pretty loyal to S&W in the past and have purchased a good number of their firearms. This is just one of those stupid things though. Why not just wait until the compact magazines are ready or simply just make them ready???

Better deal or not, If I wanted a pistol with full size mags, I would have bought a full size pistol and not a compact.

BTW TxStetson - that's just the basic 2.0 grip.

I ordered a couple of the 17 round mags for my Compact 2.0. I figure I can use the two 15 round mags that came with it for carry and take all four to the range for practice. The 17 rounders fit and look great with the mag extensions. As far as the rebate, I went with the Nations Finest $50 rebate. Sent all the required items on November 30th, but haven't received it yet.

Did the rebate specify that you would get the 15 round magazines?

Same here on the Nations Finest rebate. I used it on my 5 inch FDE 9mm and then a 40S&W version. Then got the M2.0 compact right before the end of the year using it as well. Still have not got the rebate on the compact. If I remember right, the rebates for the 5 inch versions took about 3 months.

The best rebate results I ever saw was with the FN 509 3 free mags promotion. I got the mags seriously 2 weeks after I submitted the form!

The only true problem I have had with S&W rebates was with a Shield 45. They rejected my first claim after 2 months of processing. Sent me a letter explaining why. So, I printed out every proof of purchase I could think of and sent it back in. About 2 more months later I got the rebate.

Got the same disappointing response for my two 2.0 Compacts. But hey, 4 free mags is 4 free mags.
