Unless they get rid of Lapierre and chris Cox, i will not support the nra. Yes im a member and almost got my lifetime membership paid. NRA DOES not have our rights protected. All rights. Why would they let ATF decide if bump stocks be illegal. This is just opening Pandoras box of the atf and government doin this to drop in triggers among other things... SCREW THE NRA

Don't know the guy, but not sure how he supposedly made it from regular grunt to team leader to squad leader in under 1 year. Only time I've ever heard of that happening has been in wartime when the oldest guy standing gets the promotion.

Yep... There's 30-something nominees for 25 board slots. I'd like to hear what the nominees think of that bullshit message that was put out about bump stocks and if they are going to motion to fire whoever was responsible for it.
They need to clean house and start fresh. I wont givd them another dime, im goin to join Goa...

There are two nominees on the ballot who got there by petition without the blessing of the Nominating Board. The rest are hand-picked insiders who won't do anything to help the situation with the NRA.

I'm a Golden Eagle and I'm not going back on that but I will work toward change at the NRA. To that end, I voted for Adam Kraut, the only independent nominee who has been vocal about wanting to change the NRA for the better. I strongly suggest all other voting members remember history and bullet vote for Mr. Kraut.

Now I just need to decide if I'm going to put on a "Not Really Activist" t-shirt, don my Golden Eagle hat, go to the Annual Convention in Dallas this year, and stalk Wayne LaPierre. After all, he has committed to stopping and shaking the hand of anyone he sees in a Golden Eagle hat. While shaking his hand, I should ask him to resign.

They'd probably tear the hat off my head and throw me out of the convention but it might be worth it.

ETA: Instead of going off topic here, I'm going to start another thread.

I read that there were some not nominated by the committee, but of course they didn't specify who they were. Who were the others besides Adam Kraut?

5 got on by petition but 3 of those were also nominated by committee. I have yet to figure out who the other non-committee, by-petition candidate is. When I find out, I'll post back. I'm trying to track down the name now. Whoever it is, they're not making a ruckus in the normal channels or we'd already be very aware of them.

Also, it should have been clear from the bios but either it's not or I missed it. I'll read 'em again.

ETA - I assume it's one of the 5 that Marion Hammer did not endorse, so that's where I'm concentrating.

Thanks, Ben. I'm not as up on NRA politics as I should be.
And they don't make it easy. The first thing I do with my two magazines each month is read them and throw them away. They have no lasting value to me.

I got the most recent issues on Tuesday, filled out my ballot, tossed the magazines, and my trash was picked up Wednesday morning.

No big deal, right? The information should be front and center on the NRA web site, right?

Nope. A search for the text string "Adam Kraut" on both nra.org and nraila.org turns up absolutely nothing. If the nominees were listed anywhere on their sites, the name of a candidate should be indexed but it's not.

I'm going to have to get creative. Surely someone has put the information online somewhere; I just haven't found it yet.

I was reading the Feb issue of American Rifleman last night... I tried reading the bios, but my eyes quickly glossed over. The only nominees I know anything about are Grover Norquist and Dean Cain

If I get a chance I'll scan the bios tonight and post them here.

Please note that when you vote on the ballot from your magazine, the order of the nominees will vary. They're randomized to prevent...something. I don't know the full justification but if you read all the paperwork carefully, they go over the fact that the order of nominees on the ballot is not the same for everyone.

I guess we have to discuss actual names and not numbers.

I've made my feeling clear. I suggest a bullet vote (vote just one time so that it will be counted 25 times) for Adam Kraut.

I haven't seen where the GOA really does a whole lot personally. I"m a lifetime member of the 2AF, at least they actually file suits and go to court. The NRA could be a great organization, too bad they just aren't.
