Reading reports that he gave his now deceased adoptive mother lots of problems. Killed small animals and stole things from neighbors' garages. Don't know if it is true, but seems he was pretty undisciplined.

un·dis·ci·plined adjective, lacking in discipline; uncontrolled in behavior or manner.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/02/15/report-fbi-warned-potential-school-shooter-named-nikolas-cruz-september/

The FBI was notified in September after a YouTube user named Nikolas Cruz left a comment about wanting to be a “professional school shooter,” reports the far-left BuzzFeed News.

A YouTuber named Ben Bennight emailed the FBI tip-line after he noticed a comment left by a “Nikolas Cruz” on one of his videos. The comment read, “I’m going to be a professional school shooter.”

Bennight lives in Mississippi and says he was “immediately” contacted by the local FBI office. He met with agents the following day. “That was the last I heard from them,” he told BuzzFeed.

In the wake of the arrest of 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz for the murders of 17 people in Wednesday’s school shooting in Parkland, FL, Bennight was again contacted by the FBI.

According to BuzzFeed, Special Agent Ryan Furr left the following voice mail: “I think we spoke with you in the past about a complaint that you made about someone making a comment on your YouTube channel. I just wanted to follow up with you on that and ask you a question with something that’s come up, if you wouldn’t mind giving me a ring.”

Bennight says he was again visited by the FBI agents Wednesday and asked if he knew Cruz. When he told the agents he did not, they left.

As of this writing, there is no confirmation that the Nikolas Cruz who left that YouTube comment is the same Nikolas Cruz arrested for Wednesday’s shooting massacre.

Treatment for mental issues will not get you banned in Texas or any state I know of. Otherwise anyone that ever mentions having a problem to any medical or psychiatric proffesional, or sometimes your local clergy, would get you banned.

Asks if you ever been tossed into the Looney bin on form 4473. Try answering "yes" next time and see what happens.

Basically anything with regard to mental health on 4473 means that the mental health problems were so severe that the courts got involved.

This just doesn’t happen to the casual mental illness client, even the ones who have legal charges. The threshold is very very high for mental health problems to end up disqualifying you on 4473.

Voluntary admission to hospitalization wouldn’t even count. Has to be court ordered. I work in child (serious) mental health... (state contract, county service center).

This (court ordered thing) hardly EVER happens, and I treat some seriously MESSED-UP kids.

    San Antonio!
Plus, the 4473 only applies to the acquisition of a firearm...

Under federal law, a person can be tallied in a database and barred from purchasing or possessing a firearm due to a mental illness under two conditions: if he is involuntarily committed to a mental hospital, or if a court or government body declares him mentally incompetent.

In many states, including Florida, law enforcement can take an individual to a mental hospital against his or her will for an initial evaluation. If after 72 hours the doctors observing the individual want to continue that treatment, then they can petition a court for permission, even against the patient's wishes.
That--a court order allowing a person's continued involuntary institutionalization--is one thing that should stop an individual from purchasing a firearm.

If the person was taken in for mental treatment involuntarily but was not requested to be held past 72 hours, he is not blocked from buying a gun.

In Florida, if the court chose to commit even an underage individual, he would fail a background check on that basis.

Kid like this Florida shooter I JUST BET would not have even been close to court commitment if in treatment, talking with me in therapy.

The bullets in his backpack... now that’s probably the closest action that might have got him close to there. That’s kinda unusual.

That “professional school shooter” comment on social media is “edgy”,
but in person, no question he would known the right things to say to avoid a court order for treatment. Absent of actual evidence of violence... his odd/ deranged thoughts are not an accurate predictor of violence in that there are way, way too many false positives of people who say stuff like that and do NOT go on to commit actual offenses.

Killed small animals, stole shit from neighbors are all criminal acts that should have been prosecuted and resulted in jail time or involuntary but house time. But they didn’t do shit and people got dead.

The parents of the dead need to be suing anyone who had contact with this retard and opted to punt taking action.

The fights at multiple schools should have been enough for juvenile justice to get involved.

In the 8th and 9th grades I was on Okinawa. May as well been another plant. Before Japan got control again. I had a very bad reputation there. By the time we got to Ft Hood, my reputation was already there from kids that left the island before we did.
When I got to Killeen High, there was already one kid that had been waiting to see if I could live up to my rep. Big kid. Been in trouble for fighting since he was young. Tried for two years to get me to fight. Nope. He found out a couple years later that I was not afraid, just no reason to. We eventually had a sort of truce between us. Although he continued to drink and fight. He wasn't mean, just liked to fight and wanted a good one. He is still a highly respected man in town and works as hard as he plays.
Neither of us became mass murderers. Enjoying trouble or a good fight once in a while is not much of an indicator. I have seen quite a few kids like that turn out pretty good.
The mental illness that too many have is that they were taught that any slight, real or imagined, was reason enough to **** up other peoples lives. That not getting everything you want, or not being as good at something or as popular as someone else is reason for retaliation.

This kind of comment scares me. You see, in a related vein, this makes people like me not want to “do my job.” I can’t report everyone who fantasies about violence in a therapy session. It’s ineffective. It’s not going to work.

And I’m going to get sued if the mother-fucker acts on a fantasy as if it’s my fault? You can’t predict accurately who will act and who will not, and the amount of false positives are astounding. This, “let’s sue them all attitude” is going to drive good therapists like me away from wanting to work with these kids.

It’s also going to make kids fully aware that if they say anything remotely related to aggression they will get charged or otherwise punished, so they will clam up and everything will go underground.

Mental health care will be more of a joke than it already is, because no one will risk being real.
