I have a nice pistol / rifle range. I really want to be able to train more with my pistol by moving and using barricades and cover while engaging the targets.

I have access to wooden pallets but I really don't know where to start. Should I build one taller, like a door and one shorter I need to kneel to use?

help give me some ideas please.

Plywood cut to shape or with a hole cut out to shoot through or pallet with a couple of the slats pulled off.

55 gallon drum with both ends cut out.

    Pallet laid at 45* angle.

    Etc.

Invite some folks over, have them bring some ideas and construction materials.
You know almost every time I have a range work day to work on my range funny enough everybody who likes to come shoot at my range just happens to be out of town that day. LOL

It sounds to me like you’re blaming everyone else for your piss poor timing.

In all seriousness, I fully understand. I have spent countless hours helping people move, repair vehicles, or remodel houses. Yet every time I get ready to do any of that, none of those people are available.

With the drum, you can also use the same ones to stand it up and use as cover simulation as well as prone and shooting through.

Lay out the outline of a "house" in the dirt using string, or whatever, and set up barrels, pallets, plywood sections accordingly. Or use some poles and netting similar to what they do for some of the 3 gunners. Think that was mentioned before. Out of ideas other than what has been mentioned before.
