Hey all, first time poster - but many time "searcher". There's lots of knowledge here, so thanks for that.

Does anyone have any experience with Crux Suppressors? I'm specifically looking at the Saxon 9 or the Ark45. I found a website review from a few years ago (when they were called Templar Tactical), where the Saxon was stated to be used for anything from .22lr to 9mm, and all rifle calibers up to .300 Win mag.

Since Crux suppressors are not user-servicable, I wondered and emailed their sales team. I have been told that because of the design, .22lr can be used, but after awhile they recommend a 5.56 mag dump to "clean" it out. Can anyone confirm this? If I can get away with using a single suppressor (and single tax stamp!) for the time being - that is, until I can afford another tax stamp for a dedicated .22 can... I think that would be great. I know dedicated caliber suppressors are better, but I'm thinking economically for the time being.

I just don't want to drop $1k on a suppressor and mounts, only to destroy it with dirty .22lr. Shooting .22lr through a non-serviceable can does not seem right to me.

Does anyone have this can that can comment?

I have a ark 30 and Archangel. A friend has a nemesis, ark30 and Archangel.

Can you comment any on using .22lr on these? It just doesn't feel right. I like it being a "local" company, I like the size and weight, but for my first I might go with a Griffin Optimus or Liberty Mystic X since they are rated for everything I have, including .22lr... too many decisions!

Complete BS and I would not buy anything from anyone would made this ridiculous claim.

Anybody's can would be good to use with 22 if that were true. 22 isn't just dirty, it leaves lead on the baffles that builds up. You can't just blow lead out of it.

I have had good luck with my ark and Archangel. That said, I would buy a dedicated Rimfire can. I generally use a dead air mask HD or an AAC element.

There are several really good 22 suppressors on the market. This should get you started.

I am simply not a fan of shooting Rimfire through my Centerfire cans. There is a reason that we have gone to 22 suppressors that can be cleaned

    I've got a 9mm Crux Saxon.
The internal baffle is just a huge machined mono-block core from a single piece of metal.

I suspect it is not as quiet as some other designs.
I suspect it is massively stronger than most other designs.

I've shot all kinds of stuff through it to include 17HMR, 22lr, 22mag, 9mm, 5.56, 7.62 and up to .338 Lapua.

I have several cans including dedicated 22lr.

It is not as quiet on most calibers when compared to a caliber-specific can.
    Still......it is a great one-can-all-purposes device.

The issue with .22 cans is that they need to be disassemble-able to clean the crud.
The Crux comes right apart in 2 seconds for cleaning.

So why the heck not shoot .22 lr by the thousands through it.
Cleaning it after several brazilians of 22lr rounds should be every bit as easy as cleaning my Gemtech M.I.S.T.
It's unclear why anyone would tell you otherwise.

I watched a video where the Cruz designer said the peices were press fit together and not user servicable. Was it easy to dissasemble when you first got it? Pics if possible...? Thanks for your help.

Sometimes they come loose and you can disassemble them

It was just finger tight when I got it new from a factory dealer. Threads on both ends.
I remember unscrewing and messing with it's big milled internal block during it's (brief?) 5.5 month incarceration/ATF-wait.
It never occurred to me that it should be otherwise.
    Definitely not pressed together.

After about 40 .556 rounds it's loose so I tightened it when quite hot. Now it's way tight when cool.

I don’t recommend anything they make. I was standing next to one of their Suppressors that blew up on the first round that was fired through it. It was a 300 Win. Mag. The tube split and came off the core. There are a lot of great .22 rimfire Suppressors made. Crux or Templar Tactical are absolutely at the bottom of my list. I will try and find the picture and post it.

I've had my Nemesis30 since 2015. I mainly use it for my MK18 (.223/5.56) & my Remington 700 (.308). With that said... I've shot .22lr through it with my 10/22 take-down. Not I don't put thousands of rimfire rounds through it. Hell it might be sub 100 before I shoot my MK18 or Rem700 with it. With all that said, I do want a 22 can.
Blade, you've seen one Crux can... Go research SiCo baffle strikes.

    Yikes.
Hoping that was a rare metallurgical anomaly.
Mine's not exactly "quiet" on my .338 Lapua but it seems rock solid.
