As I’ve said before, my ammo supply is such that it’d make the evening news! (Under one of those, comments they’re so fond of making, utilizing the word, “stockpile” somewhere in the report).

Maybe y'all can get a sample of what it looks like right now in Denver... they just banned bumpstocks, the city PD is "ready to collect" them. Right now they're asking for them to be turned in (no compensation)
    Does Colorado have preemption laws?

I sincerely hope you folks, young and old, have what you want in guns and ammo

I'm in pretty good shape. I worry for our future, my kids who I want to raise to shoot and my future grandkids. I worry about the future generations that will not have the freedoms we do today.

Above it all, I wonder how much of the Bill of Rights will be left when they're done dismantling the 2nd Amendment?

I am glad I never reproduced so my kids will not see how fucked this place will be in another 30 years. And as much as I have been out shooting the last 2 years I have enough ammo to make it lol. I do hope that changes and I run out.

If they ever do dismantle the 2nd amendment, you can guarantee the rest of the bill of rights won't be far behind. The 2nd is the only one that keeps a tyrannical government in check.

Won't let me read it because I have adblocker
Me too, but the code is kinda poorly written- click on the link, then quickly hit ctrl-A and ctrl-C before it pops up the adblock notice... captured all the text, but I won't paste it here (copyright and all that)

The way the law is written “any device for a pistol, rifle, or shotgun that increases the rate of fire achievable with such weapon by using energy from the recoil of the weapon to generate a reciprocating action that facilitates repeated activation of the trigger.”

so this doesn't just apply to commercial bump stocks- belt loops, thumbs and other home-made devices would also be applicable... anyone have a severed thumb we can turn in to DPD?

Are they going to have a suspender law next? No more belt loops.
The stupid is strong in Denver... it was suggested that someone should turn in a 2x4 and a rubber band to the DPD and then sue them for seizure without compensation (basically theft by the state). There is 42 U.S.C. §1983 that would guarantee recovering attorney's fees. He thought it would be poetic forcing Denver to incur $150,000+ in attorney fees for confiscating a 2x4 and a rubber band. I like giving them a set of overalls as an idea, too... walk in wearing them, advise them you've used the suspenders as a "bump stock" before... so remove them in the station and walk out in your skivvies. "y'all want my thumbs, too? You're going to have to get a proper surgeon in here if you want them"

    They will continue to try:

    1. Reducing the type of firearms that can be legally possessed
    2. Restricting ammunition supply
    3. Putting difficult technical restrictions on firearms (micro ID), so as to limit new manufacture
    4. Ban all importation.
    5. Ban manufacture.
    6. Implement a national registry, under the guise of tracking down those who misuse firearms to reduce crime
    7. When this does not reduce crime (as it never will), they will use this as an excuse to proceed to confiscation.
    8. They will start confiscation with threats and perhaps financial incentives to get people to turn their firearms in voluntarily.
    9. Next, they will try to pick those still owning guns off one at a time. Quietly. They will not issue a proclamation and send out a vast police force or the army. Such would invite large, organized resistance that would be too costly for the government (perhaps even failing completely and bringing the unlawful government down). No, heavily armed men will catch you in town. Or coming out to your car. Or walking to the mailbox. Or leaving work where you are not allowed to carry for fear of being fired. Or in the dead of the night. You will be arrested and your firearms will be seized. And this will be done before you can raise fellow 2A defenders to come to your aid. Maybe they will also hit some others simultaneously. But they will not come in force and hit the entire town. They may not visit your little part of the neighborhood again for a while. Let people get back in their routine and let their guard down. They are patient, but they will be back. And this is how they just might succeed.

I am glad I have offspring, who will be willing to fight against tyranny if needed so others will live free.

Good luck finding them in Lake Odessa.

Unless a person has avoided registering their guns, hiding them will probably not work. The feds would just charge you with the crime of not being in possession of a weapon registered to you. Illegal transfer, negligent loss or somesuch.

Perhaps the only way to stave off confiscation is a mass uprising in support of the Constitution as it was written. Thereby forcing the unconstitutional legislation to be withdrawn. Even that is not guaranteed success. Too many people would probably still sit on their tails.

By then maybe I'll tell them "Go ahead, lock me up. Do you have a geriatric ward?"
