Interesting, next time someone brings me some I'll try that out. I personally don't get the coated lead bullet fad but the customer is king.

Powder paint gives lots of pretty colors and no smoke from lube. Hi-Tek offers a few colors, works better than powder paint and again, no smoke from lube.

I rarely shoot anything but coated lead. For me it's cheap and easy.

I can buy FMJ bullets cheaper than any coated lead that I've seen so it doesn't make economic sense for me but I guess it can work for guys coating their own that don't mind the time spent. Nothing like colored bullets to inspire you at a match to perform better! ;)

You can get 230 GR RN .45 ACP FMJ bullets for less than $105/k?

Yes, I can get them for a good bit less than that.

I should clarify and say you save some good cash when you buy pallets of bullets at a time. :)

Probably but I can't sell pallets of ammo using them to anyone that I have as a customer right now. Even then lead, coated or not, is a pain to load on commercial equipment. Perhaps they could adjust the coating to produce a pleasant smell when fired instead of that funky smell Hi-Tek has... Aromatic Ammunition Therapy.
