I don’t like to spend a lot of money on gear, and I figured I was too fat for IWB carry, and I have never tried carrying at 7:30 (lefty).

Well, I saw a clearance holster on Amazon ($9.03) and said why not try?

I never would have thought to carry this way except I watched this channel below.

She’s way thinner than me, but she’s curvy and I figured I could at least give that way of carrying a try. I’m gonna keep working on my CC game.

I have a similar holster, and started it that far back. I slowly worked it forward, and figured out I like it just barely behind the hip. The front metal clip right against the side belt loop. Extremely comfortable to me, and is even easier to sit in a vehicle seat.

proves you don't have to spend $$$$ for something that works for you. Train with it now and get it to the point of it being second nature.

    Congratulations.
Cheap is good, the old KISS principle keeps proving itself.
Favorite CC holster, after mucho dinero spent looking/trying, is a Sticky, around $25.

Well... maybe I spoke too soon.

I tried a different pair of pants with a higher waist... and my curvyness around the backside is now jamming the holster/gun at an angle into where my body narrows at my natural waist, which is just a couple of inches under the bust. It’s made a sore spot at my side, even with two undershirts.

I’m going to try lowering the clips one notch to where the gun sits lower.

But I really think that this holster may not work with every pair of pants I wear due to fluctuating height of the waistline of the pants. Humph.

It’s just probably going to be true that I’m not going to be able to have one way of carry that works for everything I wear. Consistency is not going to be achieved. Just a fact.

I do have a leather holster OWB It only seems to work for CC if I wear a vest or some such style. Maybe with a regular fitted t shirt and then an unbuttoned shirt over that, which is possible, kinda hot though.

I’ve been trying to figure how I want to carry and dress to carry for a GOOD while now. It’s not been easy for me. Now I’m just most of the time committed to a Dene Adams corset holster and sometimes borderline unflattering tops which hide the bulge of the gun’s hilt.

I am figuring it all out though and I guess being happy with how I look all the time ain’t super important as I am middle aged now.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried wearing a between the pant and belt style/type of holster? Or just tried to do some minor clip modifications to an IWB to make it/them wearable as such? All but one, maybe two of my holsters are set up like that. The one that definitely isn't like that is a paddle style. And while it is THE most comfortable to wear, it also sticks out like an orange and pink polka dot neon light.

This is very similar to what I use daily for my G19. The only mods. I did to it was to trim the leather wings a bit to give more clearance between my belt loops.

    I have not tried that!

I can see if it works. I guess I would just have to skip one of the belt loops?

    Interesting idea.

I see that they went down in price to $6. So I’ll admit I got another one. They are great to have around as a spare holster I would guess. I could even somehow mount it somewhere for that price.

    Sorry, forgot the link

    https://www.whitehatholsters.com/maxclip-hybrid-iwb-holster-obsidian-series/

And I don't skip a loop at all. The belt goes through a belt loop, over the holster and under the clip on it, then through the following belt loop.

It gives me a more secured feeling holster and I get some of the benefits of an IWB without having to buy new pants to accommodate the thickness of the equipment. I am though limited in placement due to where the loops are now. Is the reason for the minor wing trimming.

My only advice would be to have a couple of holsters for deferent styles of clothing. I switch between holsters depending on how I dress for the day. I even have an ankle holster for the times when that's all that works

I find for iwb I have to wear almost a size bigger then what a normally wear. But I prefer lose fitting clothes. And if I can carry iwb being 80 plus pounds over wait I figure anyone can.

    Thanks for the feedback.

It’s nice to try a holster for $6.

I have spent a big chunk of change on holsters for competition and so I’m still catching up on holsters for everyday carry, although I do have now four of them I can use for different locations for carry. Well five, considering I have two corset holsters.

Seems like what my lic to carry instructor said is true: you will spend a lot of money finding the right fit. Doesn't mean each item will be expensive but it will take a few to find the one that's right for you.

I want to IWB carry but all (most) of my clothes are fitted. Business casual during the week and jeans or shorts on weekends. Need to seek out a happy medium.

Sounds like this may be a female type problem. Men's pants don't seem to vary as much in waist rise like they do on the female side of the dressing room.

I can see how if the waistline of my pants changed dramatically, how it would affect comfort. Since most holsters are universal and designed more for Men, I'd say you'll just have to accessorize better. Different holster set up / carry position for different pants. Unless you can settle on one waist height.

Yeah, my IWB holsters started out at about 4:30 and have migrated around to 3:00 because I've got no freakin' butt and the weight drags my pants down back there. Comfy while it lasts, then annoying as hell as I constantly have to hike my belt back up.

But I'm happy with 3:00 wear - it still hides well for me and my pants stay where I left 'em.
