Not sure why I didn't think of this, but have you considered using Tac-Pacs? They stack and come in various sizes.

I looked them up. I like them and really like that you can see what's inside. On Amazon they have 100 for $150 though. The repack boxes were like $34 for 100.

For 223 they are $2 each, cheaper than the Cabelas ammo boxes I usually buy.

How heavy duty are these? Can't tell from the pics.

I can probably get them for you for much cheaper from an 06 who uses them. Heck I think I have a bunch here from sampling when I was working on gage blocks that dropped right into them for someone else. I'd have to look though, might be in the warehouse hiding. The guy who makes them was generous with samples.

Speaking of gauge blocks... What do you use? I'd like one for 9mm and maybe one for 223. Seems like they're made of gold though for the prices I saw.

They aren't cheap because they are a bunch of time on a machine. I think I'm paying 200 bucks for a 50 hole rifle gage block cut to my specs and 150 for a 9mm block from a guy using my layouts.

Daaaaaang. I think the one I was looking at is about 100 bucks for 100 rounds. Why do you get yours done too a special measurement? Do you just want them slightly tighter than max saami spec?

I assume max spec is what the others on the market are cut to?

Depends on who is cutting it and what reamer they are using. You can order a reamer ground to whatever spec you want. The maximum ammunition tolerance is the minimum chamber tolerance (typically) so if you get a minimum chamber reamer then you automatically get the maximum ammunition tolerance that you want.

Of course, they wear with each cut so you end up being smaller than the minimum chamber tolerance as the reamer is used and you can combat that by starting with a reamer in the middle of the chamber tolerance.

You would never want to ream a block using the minimum ammunition spec, almost nothing would pass it using normal loading equipment. Especially using fired casings with foreign headstamps.

That's all understandable. A coworker of mine told me about a gauge he has. He says it does 5 or 6 at a time of the same caliber. He said it was pretty cheap, too. He's going to get a picture of it later and send it to me and let me know who makes it. I wouldn't mind having g one that only does 5-6 at a time. That's a hell of a lot better than 1!

I'll have to send you pictures of my new ones. I've got a filler now so we use 50 count blocks with flip trays, so much faster.

I'm very OCD so I use MTM cases and put them into ammo cans. Empty brass goes in clear plastic containers with lids, in the container I put a card with the rifle and the specific load.
