I was at the Mesquite Gun Show Sunday morning. I met a friend of mine there. He had a Glock G21SF he wanted to try to sell. I had no intention of buying anything, just looking.
Well, that changed when I found three dealers who had new FDE Vickers Gen 3 G17s. After some back an forth negotiations with one fellow, he ended up selling me his new Vickers 17 for $500 + tax. ( $541 out the door )

Up until Sunday morning I had never heard of a Vickers Glock. I have since read it is a joint production pistol between Glock, Lipseys, and Larry Vickers. Two thousand FDE G17 were made this year.
I see the Vickers G17 has a different grip texture than my Gen 3 G19. There is a package of magazine caps and a frame plug included in the factory box.
Are there any other factors that make a Vickers Glock different than a stand Gen 3 G17?

I bought it because I liked the way it felt in my hand and the color.
I liked the final price also.
It was one of those "do I need it? NO. Do I want it? YES. moments!

I didn't ask for a critique of my price negotiation.
I asked for information concerning differences in a standard Gen 3 G17 and a Vickers Gen 3 G17.
I don't mean to be blunt. I just want information about the product.

Only difference is they have the RTF2 (RoughTextureFrame) Vickers mag base plates, Vickers slide lock/release and Vickers mag release plus Ameriglo sights.

I seem to remember this from the initial post.

I guess so. My sign up date was in 2010. Somewhere around 1,200 posts so far.
When it comes to firearm reviews, I believe about half of what I read on the internet or in magazines. Most writers are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them. The rest are Glock haters. I had much rather ask my peers for their input.
I have already purchased this pistol. I also now have a general idea of the differences in a Vickers Glock.

I've owned exactly TWO Glocks in my life ( I'm 72 ), a model 19 and model 36. I don't own them any longer. They worked perfectly. They were as accurate as needed for their purpose. They just had no SOUL! Hence, they had to GO! I have ONE "plastic" pistol now, an SR-40. I carry it most of the time. I also carry one of my various 1911's when I'm not carrying the Ruger. The SR-40 is as accurate as the glocks were, runs just well, and doesn't feel like I'm trying to hold onto a 2x4. The 1911's are much more accurate than any plastic pistol I've owned and just as reliable. Just heavy.

NewToTex, buddy, I gotta side with you on this. Your response to the OP was cordial, on point, appropriate, and in no way deserved the response you got. I’m betting Ol Vet has some issues goon for him to have responded like that.

    Thanks.
This is why I seldom visit this site.
Maybe you need to go back to where ever you came from.

Old Vet, your response was well beyond blunt... you lashed out at someone making an appropriate response by ripping him a new one. You may wanna take a deep breath there my friend and reevaluate... just sayin.
