Why are you quoting me? You should be quoting the person that said it.
You asked me to define AR. Well my definition is really different than most and surely from yours. I was there when the first AR 15's were demonstrated to our unit. The military expert that was training us said this is an AR 15. The AR stands for Automatic Rifle. Then the demonstration took place. Since then there have been many definitions and stories told about the AR. Again, you won't believe me, but, I was there in 1964.
That military expert was a retard. AR = Armalite RifleYou asked me to define AR. Well my definition is really different than most and surely from yours. Not in a warm and fuzzy way, I hope.Your avatar is freaking me out!!!
Not is a warm and fuzzy way, i hope.
That 1964 AR 15 was also select fire. And, I should have told the NCO that was wrong. So the mistake of some NCO in '64 means the AR of today is more deadly than the M-2 select fire that was around in '64?
That would have been a M16, not an AR15. Hope you answer my questions from post #178.That 1964 AR 15 was also select fire. And, I should have told the NCO that was wrong.
I was in the USAF on a Navy Ammo Depot serving at a radio and radar site. I wasn't in combat. The AR 15 was being introduced to all USAF personnel. And, what I said was what I was told. I didn't say it was the only way to describe and AR -15. And, I didn't start this conversation to get nothing but insults. I thought I might get some discussion on how veterans and other gun owners might contribute to a solution. I guess I was very wrong on that.Where exactly were you and what kind of unit were you in when the above took place? This was in 1964 you say?
As an old guy that has been around a considerable amount of the world, I understand that the only person that is responsible for my safety is me.I thought I might get some discussion on how veterans and other gun owners might contribute to a solution. I guess I was very wrong on that.
Seems to me that out of the first 4 people on earth, 1 was a murderer, and no gun was used. People are the problem and always have been. What solution is there to keep people from killing people? Or are you blaming the instrument?
People have been trying to figure a way to keep people from killing other people for the last 30,000 years or so. The only different today is the means they use.I was in the USAF on a Navy Ammo Depot serving at a radio and radar site. I wasn't in combat. The AR 15 was being introduced to all USAF personnel. And, what I said was what I was told. I didn't say it was the only way to describe and AR -15. And, I didn't start this conversation to get nothing but insults. I am not blaming the instrument. And, as long as people think there is no solution, there will be no solution. What solution is there to keep people from killing people? Or are you blaming the instrument?
Point I was trying to make is that the original ARs were pretty much designed for military service, were they not?Every gun basically made to kill. A lot of people believe the m4 or m16 are more designed to injure than kill. The thought is injure an enemy takes someone else out of the fight to help them.

Since you don't trust me I will let someone else tell you that the AR 15 entered military service prior to the M16.That would have been a M16, not an AR15. Hope you answer my questions from post #178.
How long has murder been outlawed? Has making it illegal actually stopped some from committing it? As long as people only focus on the means, there will be no solution to the crime.I am not blaming the instrument. And, as long as people think there is no solution, there will be no solution.
Now we are getting to my point. The focus must be very comprehensive and I think that a forum such as this could come up with some very good recommendations. How long has murder been outlawed? Has making it illegal actually stopped some from committing it? As long as people only focus on the means, there will be no solution to the crime.
