On September 11th 2001, 19 Muslim terrorists hijacked four planes using box cutters. They then crashed three of these planes into buildings. Both towers of the World Trade Center in New York, and the Pentagon in D.C. The fourth plane crashed in a field outside Shanksville PA, this plane is thought to have been brought down by the actions of the passengers against the terrorists.
On this awful day 2996 people lost their lives due to these attacks. Another 6000+ were injured. People are still dying to this day due to these attacks.
The Left, whom have a passion for blaming objects and wanting them banned never at any time after these attacked called for the banning of box cutters or planes. This is because they knew that box cutters and planes were not the actual cause of the problem.
Yet let some crazy person obtain a firearm and kill people and the Left immediately wants firearms banned. They call for "sensible" and "common sense" gun control. But it's not gun control they want, instead it's the complete and total removal of firearms from public ownership.
This is because the Left knows they can't turn the United States into another third world socialist hellhole as long as the People have the means to resist them.
Every day in the US approximately 29 people die in alcohol related driving accidents. We don't see the Left calling for the banning of alcohol...oh wait we tried that once and it didn't work, nor the banning of automobiles. Hell, they don't even want to ban military style automatic assault transmissions or high capacity gas tanks. They don't talk about putting an interlock device in every vehicle to prevent drunks from driving.
More children drown in swimming pools every year than are killed by accidental gunshots. Yet we don't see the left calling for a ban on swimming pools.
No, the Left doesn't care about the deaths. In fact they revel in them because it gives them a chance, albeit a very slim one, to advance their agenda. If they really cared about children they would oppose abortion for starters.
Let's not forget that that paragon of the Left Margaret Sanger, who founded one of the Left's most idolized institutions, Planned Parenthood, actively called for the elimination of the "Negro race".
We're told by the Left that we shouldn't hold the Founders of this country in high esteem because some of them owned slaves, yet they worship someone who wanted to eliminate the "Negro race".
The Left is intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt. They will on one hand tell us that the Founders couldn't foresee modern weapons, therefor the Second Amendment is invalid, while on the other hand call for more freedom of the internet.
The Left claims they are the party of tolerance and that's true to a point. They will tolerate you as long as you agree with them. Disagree and they want to send you to death camps.
The Left claims they are the party of Free Speech. As long as that Speech agrees with them. If you dare to espouse views they disagree with they will shout you down and call for your death.
These are just my thoughts for the morning.
