My first auto knife

I've never owned one but have been curious about them.
I own mostly Benchmade and Spiderco and love them. I saw this Cobra Tec yesterday and after some deliberation, I bought it.
I know there are higher quality autos out there, but this one will be fine as I don't see myself using it for EDC
They are a company based in Waxahachie and offer a lifetime warranty

440c steel. Not bad at all. Don't even think about prying anything with it because it'll chip. It'll take a scary edge and it's easy to get that edge back after it dulls.

Nice knife.

I have one just like it, and keep it in my “oh shit” bag. I would have the Benchmade version if I could find it for less than $300.

When you drop it and the blade disengages from the opening mechanism, don’t take it apart. Just slam the butt down on something solid, which will reset the blade. Much, much easier than taking it apart.

An annoying thing I've found on the out the front knives. They need to stay fairly dry on the lube. Benchmade says any oil that's not solvent based. Like rem oil. I used a non solvent gun oil. Some high dollar stuff that came with a SIG 522. Some purple stuff.

Pocket lint will gum it up. As much as I open and close it. WD40 works. Super light and dryish' lube works better then the thicker stickier oils. It's not a problem with the oil or the design of the OTF. It's pocket lint and dirt mixing with oil. It'll also gum up the blade button.

The blade will kinda stick on the way out. It won't fully retract and lock. Or the blade deploys when it's in your pocket. I have to keep my OTF dry for it to work the best. At least from carrying it in my pocket.

That's a good analogy. You're right. On a pair of my favorite shorts. The right pocket has a hole in it. The blade came out the Benchmade. Felt something cold against my leg. It's was a Damn dagger blade.

I had an assisted opening Benchmade that kept opening in my pocket , big freaking blade too. That gets interesting really fast.
I had to send it back to Benchmade

Their "Axis Lock". The name they give it for a sliding lock pin on the rear of the blade. Non-automatic. You can open and close those faster then an auto. Flick it open and flick it closed. I've had a couple of the autos. Easy to open but you had to push the blade back into the knife. There's no freewheeling it back it's under spring pressure.

OTF knives address that. Button slide and the blade go's both ways. No having to fold it back up. Easy and smooth, Click...click
