    near the Alamo
    While not a real fan of Ruger I can't turn down a good deal when I find them. My local shop had a Ruger SP-101 .357 Magnum that had been sent to Magna-Port for porting; tis mine now; then a week later I went back and bought the Ruger Alaskan .44 Magnum:

    Took the Alaskan to the range; shot 6 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense .44 Special and 6 rounds of Speer Golddot .44 Magnum at 10 yards. Six of the .44 Special and 1 .44 Magnum center mass, five of the .44 Magnum to the head; one miss.

    The Alaskan is a bit bulky for carry but loaded with the Hornady it's perfect for home defense!
