Recent transplant from Oregon. Adjusting to new culture and food. I noticed there is not a Starbucks on every corner. No fresh halibut or bay shrimp. There is BBQ, smoked prime-rib, and great Cajun dishes. Life is trade-offs. Grew up in the gun cultures of Colorado and New Mexico. Never more than 20 to 30 minutes away from great shooting. Even Oregon had very nice clubs and public ranges in the many State and National forests and parks. No public lands came as a bit of a shock after our move, you either own a ranch, know somebody that owns a ranch, or try to find a club within driving distance. There is an abundance of fantastic fishing waters (need a boat, but do-able) around me in every direction.., so as I said, life is trade-offs.
Still, I can get my gun culture fix by belonging to like-minded sites, and word has it that texasguntalk is THE place. Looking forward to reading about the many adventures of the folks at texasguntalk.
