What are the thoughts in the PSA PA-10 rifles?

I've been really tempted to pick one up.

What are the upsides and downsides to them?

I have one...they tend to be overgassed (meant for 147 - 150 gr military ammo). Knowing I would void the warranty I put an adjustable gas block on mine as I don’t shoot the bulk stuff in mine plus I plan on running a can.

As far as .40 & 45 FMJ, I'm not seeing any advantage to online ordering, even with free shipping when compared to the 200 range pack Academy has now at $54.99 and $65.99 or around $12 and $14 a box OTD and after rebate.

Not a whole lot of great deals out there, especially for .38 and .357...

.40 JHP -Can't speak for the performance, low recoil ???? (I do believe it was discontinued)- $67.43 200 round

What are your current thoughts on 380 ammo, Southpaw? I just realized that I'm going to need more range fodder here shortly.

I've been having a tough time finding any real deals through my normal networks.

For Winchester, Academy still gets the best or same price on their 200 round range box - $58.27 OTD and after rebate. That's .29 a round.
Now I do see other brands online for around .23 to.25 c/pr shipped and many OOS , but you are right, inventory is low in general.

    $235 shipped

I don't own a .380 so pardon my exclusion in my posts.

No sweat. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Looks like I need to get the press fired up.

I have been considering a decent high entry level / mid tier level AK47 just to have something chambered in 7.62x39. I figured the AK platform was the way to go as opposed to an SKS or Mini-30 (although I do want an SKS also).
I have a WASR 10-63 and a new Arsenal SLR-107. Both are great rifles. No experience with the new WASR-10 personally, but have read great things about them. I don t think you could go wrong with either rifle. If you can find a Norinco import Arsenal /26\ Chinese SKS in good original shape I wouldn't hesitate on that either. SKS rifles are priced all over the board. Just about any SKS in original form under $400 is worth grabbing. They are not getting cheaper. Some models and variant are starting to approach $1,000!
