Time to dump YouTube and move over to Full30.com. Spread the word. This post will be duplicated and placed on other gun forums to get the word out.

“YouTube has updated it’s policies regarding videos featuring firearms, and it could result in a whole lot of gun-related content being removed from the site.

Here is how the YouTube policy on firearms content now reads:
YouTube prohibits certain kinds of content featuring firearms. Specifically, we don’t allow content that:

    • Intends to sell firearms or certain firearms accessories through direct sales (e.g., private sales by individuals) or links to sites that sell these items. These accessories include but may not be limited to accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).

    • Provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm, ammunition, high capacity magazine, homemade silencers/suppressors, or certain firearms accessories such as those listed above. This also includes instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities.

    • Shows users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.”

There’s a rumor that some firearms content/channels are going to pornhub.com

I haven’t found it yet but am doing extensive research

You know, you could just type pornhub.com into your search engine and get there faster.

That's no rumor. InRange.tv debuted their channel today.
    From the InRangeTV Facebook page:
InRangeTV takes pride in its consistently forward looking approach to digital media in today’s world of partisan censorship, fake news, and corporate encroachment into publication of potentially controversial information. YouTube’s newly released released vague and one-sided firearms policy makes it abundantly clear that YouTube cannot be counted upon to be a safe harbor for a wide variety of views and subject matter.

In a search for solutions to life’s challenges, an understanding of the past can provide valuable insight. With its foundation as a channel dedicated to understanding firearms through the lens of history, InRangeTV is ideally positioned to recognize trends likely to succeed. In particular, an understanding that vice and pornography have long been leading drivers of communications technology and infrastructure.

For this reason, InRangeTV is pleased to announce its expansion onto the PornHub network.

PornHub has a history of being a proactive voice in the online community, as well as operating a resilient and robust video streaming platform.

InRangeTV is excited to be joining a group of content creators who are truly open and non-judgmental when it comes to potentially controversial content.
If I weren't on the way out the door, I'd have quite a lot to say about this.

Yes, InRangeTV is now in several places, including PornHub.

Free speech still finds a way. And while it may not be as robust as it once was, the internet still routes around censorship.

Actually Pornhub might not be a bad idea ideally because they get the amount of traffic necessary to have the money to fight legal battles against gun grabbers. They're obviously pro 1st amendment so why not be pro 2nd as well. I understand Full30 only lets certain people upload and I am against that.

Well, it's not that they want that situation to exist. They simply can't afford the bandwidth to let anyone and everyone upload. Thus, they "curate" their collection.

Their goal is to provide a space for everybody. Personally, I think that's a fools errand. They'd have to monetize their content to a ridiculously successful degree to achieve that. A niche site has problems doing such a thing. I don't condemn Full30 for limiting their content in order to avoid costs; I just don't see how they're going to graduate to full "truly free YT" status given their niche content.

Now, that's not to say that niche content can't create enough traffic to make site-building worthwhile. A site can be built if the niche strongly motivates the viewer.

PH, obviously, is built on addressing a basic human need felt very strongly by most people. In that niche, they've built up a huge and successful infrastructure. If firearms-related content can piggy-back on their efforts, that's a win for everybody.
They're obviously pro 1st amendment so why not be pro 2nd as well.
Yeah, about that. I foresee problems.

In my experience, the porn industry is infected with political leftists who are appalled that the 2nd Amendment even exists. For every "girls and guns" producer, there are a dozen who simply don't think civilians should own guns, period.

I guess we'll soon see how the people who run PornHub feel about guns.

As an aside, I was arguing with porn producers about guns back in the days of the first Bush administration. I advised multiple people "If you're worried about infringements on your 1st Amendment rights, learn from the gun lobby about fighting for the 2nd Amendment. Y'all are natural allies."

The pushback I got at porn conventions and in other contexts was extreme. While there were always a few who were sympathetic, most were like one of my old editors who yelled at me, in front of many witnesses, that there was no way he'd "get in bed with those kinds of inbred religious hicks who are actually so stupid they think guns are good things."

BTW - I got the same type of response from gun owners when I brought up the "natural allies" angle. I've been told more than once that it would be a sin to align with those Godless purveyors of filth who should all be loaded on a boat and dumped in the middle of the ocean.

Maybe, with the passage of time, some semblance of reason has come into play. The same type of people who want to infringe on the 2nd in order to control people are the type who would happily infringe on the 1st just to control people by putting those nasty pornographers out of business.

It's incumbent upon all freedom-loving folks to put aside their aesthetic revulsions to other people who also value freedom. It's time to work together toward a common political goal.

Kudos to InRangeTV for taking an important step to reach out to others who have been subject to government oppression. Bridge-building betwixt freedom-loving folks should always be welcomed.

Pornhub has a fairly robust network and the amount of traffic they deliver on a daily basis is truly staggering. I've seen the internals of their network and they're certainly geared for primetime. Their security is getting better and it really needs to be if they're accepting the responsibiilty of putting yet another target on their backs. InrangeTV's content will be a drop in the bucket for them. The funny thing that we'll all have to see play out is that some of the social issues that PornHub advocates for may not align with the values that the typical "I'm boycotting YouTube" follower. Maybe it's a marriage of convenience.

As far as monetization goes, last I heard is that youtube is a constant loser for google. Even with its massive viewership it spends more than it earns. YoutubeRed has been a total bust and was their big hope for curing the revnue problem.

Now, maybe this has been turned around as they've really decreased the cut that goes to the creaters. I haven't seen any uodates in a while. Somehow I doubt it's actually become profitable though. Seems like its more of a gateway to other google services.
