Does anybody know of some good clubs that aren't just Jeep only clubs or require Facebook around DFW? I don't know anyone in TX yet to go rock crawling with so I thought I would look for a club to join.

I am not in the off road scene (not by choice, wife made me leave my 1989 K5 in Minnesota when I moved to Texas) but a couple guys I work with go to Bridgeport to the off road park a couple times a year. (45ish min from Fort worth) They say it is a pretty good spot. Easy to hard stuff. They were part of some group called the "soft roaders" or something like that. Really a larger group of cats in your non conventional stuff like SUV's, jeeps, 4x4 trucks, even Subaru cars.

Came back to post a link to above guys. If you have no contacts in the off road scene, check these guys out. I know 2 or 3 of them. Otherwise NO connection.

Don’t know of any clubs but there are some good places to go 4 wheeling within 1-2 hours from Dallas. I recently went to an ohv park that is owned by a city that was fun and family friendly. I think it was called northwest ohv park?

nevermind, looks like it's plenty of fun

same size lift as me. I'd like to go 2-4" higher and step up to 38s (and down from 20s to 16s... back to old school).

I've seen everything from truggies to jeeps, mud trucks and momma's SUV come down 51 covered in mud so there is probably a little something for everyone.

As you found out, most are Jeep specific clubs. One of the best non veihicle specific clubs, DFW-FWD, went TU a few years back. I have not found anything to replace it, that is also not a FB or internet club.

that part looks the most fun to me. As mentioned, I'd want a few more inches of lift and 38s with some decent meat.

As my truck sits now, I wouldn't want to get the floor wet (wiring, amps, etc) especially in higher water. Plus my fronts are almost worthless. Well, my tires suck period (procomp a/t)

looks like that's an hour from me. Wonder if it's any fun for a big heavy diesel?

I took my f150 there and had fun. A lot more areas for jeeps. Long wheel base will bottom out on a lot of the trails but there are some fun areas there to get in some thick deep mud. If you have a big lift there’s a couple nice hill climbs.

your F150 is probably pretty close to the size of my F250 (156" wheelbase).
Right now it doesn't sit super high, but in the video I posted (same setup as me) you see him get close to the driveshaft a couple times. I'd probably bring my 8 year old twins so I'd like to wheel without a spotter.

Just found some lift components from PMF (high quality parts, mostly for diesels, mostly fords) to get me up to the height I'm looking for without breaking the bank.

Hopefully start on that this fall once we've made more progress with the house.

I will have to check them out to see what they have if anything for my 2015 f150. I already did a front lift to level the truck but eventually I want a full suspension lift.

Not much in the way of clubs around here.

    DFW-TX4WD is one.

Just find some folks you like, and go

I always loved going up to Clayton Oklahoma. Some super crawling there. Expect some body damage if you aren’t armored ip pretty good.

Katemcy Rocks down in Mason is world class. Randy (owner) is a great guy.

My truck is still kinda pretty so I don't want to raisin it up quite yet haha. I'm heading down to the W.E. Rock competition at Katemcy on April 7th and hopefully check out a few trails while I'm there.

Armor it up and go have your own real adventure.

The world is filled with mall crawlers and poseurs.

I went to Bridgeport the other year with my Rubicon, not a bad place. Several spots had more mud than I wanted though. The other guys I was with didn't mind the mud, I prefer rocks.

I also hate mud, but the 10 year old inside me makes me floor it and do donuts whenever I'm in it.
