    ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) - A gun show will no longer take place at the Round Rock Sports Center after a gun went off at an event last year.

    The Austin Gun Show-Round Rock was scheduled for March 17 and 18, but the organizer said the venue "terminated all future gun shows" after a "negligent discharge" from a venue. The city of Round Rock owns the Round Rock Sports Center.

    Premiere Gun Shows says it is looking for a new place to hold future gun shows.​

    I do wish we knew more about how the ND happened. I can't recall if vendors were supposed to also have weapons checked by LEOs, or if they were able to carry. Either way, it's an embarrassment to hear of this happen. I suspect the vendor was administratively handling his personal weapon. But that's just a guess.

    They can have it at the annex in Taylor that show thats put on there sucks. But to my point host it too far away and I won’t go. My local gun shop has all the latest and hard to find, and they have layaway. Only reason I like the shows are the private tables and people walking around.

    They will not likely use a venue that's already hosting a gun show by a different promoter. In fact, they don't even want to be close to a location that is already being used for a gun show; which is why the San Antonio show was on the opposite side of town from the SAXET one. It is a professional courtesy.

    Per their Facebook page, Premier says there will be three more shows scheduled at this location this year.

    The next one will be 11 & 12 August.
