    Prolly wrong place , if so i apologize,
    I was confronted today by employer after almost a year of me getting my TLC. I Put my gun in a lock box in my pickup upon leaving to go inside to work. I was told that company policy was i couldnt not even have it on premise. Only people authorized can have them on premise..
    I stated by law i am authorized by having my ltc that i can have on premise.
    So im the next few days we will see who comes out on top..
    Look up labor law 52.061, it states that no employer can DENY a employee the right to carry and store gun and ammunition in his vehicle in a locked box...

    The law is on your side.

    But at-will employment in a right-to-work state means you could have an uphill battle if they fire and you sue.

    I still think it would be wrongful termination if they claim that’s the reason why they fire you.

    In the unlikely event they do terminate you, get the reason in writing. Or discreetly record a conversation with the boss with him saying they fired you for having a firearm in your locked car which was in a company parking lot. {Yes, this is legal in Texas. A recording only needs one party's consent, and that party would be you.}

    Then you may have grounds for a wrongful termination suit.

    Choose your battles wisely.

    It wouldn’t be the gun locked in your vehicle that you’d be terminated for (if it comes to that). And unless you show/{fein} complete and utter compliance with company policy, why would you put future annual/merit raises at risk?

    The best policy is yet again, keeping a “low profile” concerning your guns and a potential anti-gun employer.

    The ‘grey man’ says, you might win the battle but you’ll loose the war. (Unless, like others have said, you already have new employment lined up).

    Im not worried about employment.

    You'd be surprised. I took that law to our company policy makers about three years ago and got them to change their policy of no firearms on their property.

    By doing that you sound like your against legal carry to and from work

    Huh?!? The company had a "no carry on property" policy. robertc1024 showed them the law you posted. The company changed their policy to allow firearms on the property. How exactly is robertc1024 against "legal carry to and from work"?!?
