I picked up my great uncles model 34 .22lr today. It fires but it doesn't cycle ammo through the action. I figured it's caked with dust from sitting so long. Anyone know how to disassemble one?

    Gunz are icky.
    Open the bolt.
    Pull trigger. Pull bolt out.
Twist open tube mag follower. Pull out.
    Clean from there.
No need to detail strip it.

The main issue was not cycling. But for starters the magazine rod was missing. I have 2 other old Remington.22s that one of the rods almost fit but just enough to cycle the rounds. So the problem is the rod. I had to spray the action with amsoil to loosen everything up. This gun sat for I'd bet 20-30 years

    Relatively easy fix.
Carefully tap out the crosspin holding in the knurled cap on the replacement follower rod. Remove cap.
    Remove spring and follower tip.
Clean spring and inside of tube.
Using a tubing cutter GENTLY cut off tube to required length. Don't over tighten the cutter too much. Take your time.
    Drill new hole for crosspin.
    Reassemble.

Couldn't find a disassembly video but found an assembly video on YouTube. Just reverse what they show there.
