    I didn't realize that I had this contribution til I saw previous pics. This is transportation of 12ft & 20 ft 4x4 steel posts. The right front tire was toast before this endeavor. The standoffs are 1 gallon laundry soap jugs. - It worked.

    Not hauling stuff quite that heavy, but when I had my Ranger, it had sideview mirrors on triangular supports - looked like the number 7 attached to the side of the door. I would put the 10' or 12' wood stock (generally casing or baseboard - back when baseboard was maybe 3" high - between the mirror and passenger door, then tie the back end up into a bundle, and tie that to the edge of the back of the load bed. Worked great. Also helps I only had 6-8 sticks altogether.
