Wanting to get the wife a LR rifle. Going to go with a 6.5c. But the problem I'm having is she is 4'8"/56" tall. She does not have the longest lop. I measured her 15-22 the other day and she had it at her comfort range of about 11.5". She would be happy with a 10"-12.5" lop. But, I want her to have an adjustable cheek piece also.

She's a shooter. she cold-bored the 18"gong @ 830yrds. But that was my LRP set up for me. Love shooting next to her and having little competitions.

OK, so this is the criteria...
    10-12.5 lop
    Adjustable cheek weld
    Bolt action
    Threaded barrel
6.5c or 6.5prc or any round that bucks the wind but will not flinch her. Running a can.

I know I'm probably going down the custom "rabbit hole".... but was hoping to find a factory rifle to meet her set up.

Any help, info or guidance would be much appreciated.

Does it have to be bolt? I'm building a 6.5CM gas gun, as custom as I want it.

In gas or bolt you could probably do the new 224 Valkyrie. Wonder if you could have a Mossberg MVP or Ruger American rebarrelled?

I don't see it listed on their site but I found mention of it elsewhere on the web, Mossberg MVP in 224 Valkyrie. MVP rifles are bolt and accept PMags. That round is based on 6.8SPC, supposed to be a light shooting round.

Not shoot one but the LGS store has that in .224 Valkerie. Sweet rifle. But they want $1150 for it used. Nope.

Anybody know how much difference there is between bolt and SA?

Hmm... just did some reading on the valkerie.... Now I might be changing gears. That round sounds pretty sweet. I can get a upper and slap it on my AR that has the magpul prs stock on it. Has anyone shot the valkerie on a gas gun with a can?

I’ve read all the reviews and watched all the videos. Once the new has worn off and prices drop for the components, I will be converting an AR to that round.

Hey Bud, Boyds gun stocks make stocks with different lop and adjustable comb heights as options to their stocks if you wanted to stay with a bolt gun. Plus your wife could pick some colors for the stock that would make it her own.

    I think I found a winner. http://www.mossberg.com/product/mvp-lc-rifle-28018/
It's light and the lop goes down to 11.25"
Anyone had a chance to see or feel the trigger on one of these?

Have not held one but I've been eyeing the MVPs since they first came out, just never bought one. (Did talk a few buddies into them though.)

You might even be able to get her a better grip with a B5 Systems pistol grip, it's more vertical than most. I own almost a dozen of them, highly recommend.

OK talked to the wife. Going to stick with a ar platform. Probably going to piece her something together.

But I want to run this hand guard on it. https://unique-ars.com/?s=lotus+dragon&post_type=product

Do they make an upper without a hand guard? free floted? I'm not real knowledgeable when it comes to ar's
Next question, what caliber? The new 224 Valkyrie, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creedmoor? (Creedmoor requires 308 sizes AR, parts get pricey quick.)

I have built quite a few ARs for myself and will try to answer any questions you may have.

Those handguards are nice. Cerakote for the receivers and handguard and even barrel are possible as well. Could have custom rifle without expense of that one part.

Lots of options when comes to upper and lower receivers. I've built several on PSA, Spikes, Aero Precision, all do the job. The important parts are barrel and BCG in addition to trigger. I recently bought a Ballistic Advantage barrel which is supposed to get high marks for the price point. I also have a Rainier Arms UltraMatch and a White Oaks Armament barrel, both are very nice. I'm also a fan of Geissele triggers, CMC also makes nice ones along with AR Gold and many others.

Rails or handguards come in more shapes and sizes than you could ever imagine or hope. Decide the length you want then rails or no rails, MLok or KeyMod, diameter, etc.

It's a whole other world when you start playing with ARs.
