Was in Tyler last week with my wife and decided to go see a movie. I ordered the tickets online and when we got to the theater I saw a 30.06 and 30.07 posted on the entrance doors. I went to the ticket window and told the young boy if I could return my tickets and get my money back. I'm not sure he knew what the signs meant. He didn't know what to do so he called several numbers and then told me he could not refund tickets purchased online. I asked to talk with a manager and he said the manager was out of town for a week. I asked who can help me. He didn't know so he gave me a form to fill out and send to Chicago headquarters. When I got home I went to the Regal theater in Fort Worth and they refunded me except for $3.00 internet fee. BTW the theater in FW did not have 30.06 or 30.07 signs. I will not give my business to any business that will not allow CC.

One of the Regals in San Antonio is signed up with 30.06 and .07. Found that out in a similar circumstance. Though it’s nice, I don’t go there anymore.

You might consider joining this group : Texas3006.com
then reporting your 30.06, 30.07 findings there & perhaps save a fellow LTCer from the same difficulty.

I’ll second that. This happened within my first week or so of coming home to TX for good.

The app has a *somewhat* useful feature that will give you a proximity alert to a posted business.

But, it’s user fed data. Not everywhere is included.

Given the lack of courtesy even if not posted 30.06/07 movie theatres are a thing of the past for me.

Care to talk to your seat mate like you're both at home in your living room, sure why not?"

Blather away on your cell phone, ...why not?

See where I'm going with this...?

If ushers aren't re-introduced to stop obnoxious behavior, no way will I go to a movie theatre.

This is why I only go to Alamo Drafthouse

This is why I only go to Alamo Drafthouse
In 1989 when "Lawrence of Arabia" was re-mastered and re-released I went to see it. There were just 6 people in the theater.

Two guys sitting at the far end of the row where I was seated talked non-stop and loudly during the entire overture. The overture to that movie is beautiful and I wanted to pay close attention but I also realized that the curtains haven't even been drawn when it starts. Thus, I know it takes a bit of time for folks to settle down.

These guys didn't settle down. The blabbed the entire time, over the music, after the curtains were drawn. They showed no signs of stopping.

During that theatrical re-release, there was a short pause, literally a few seconds, between the end of the overture and the first projected frames. In that pause, they continued to talk.

I stood up, turned directly to them, and fairly screamed in my best command voice "Shut. The. F***. Up!"

They looked at me like I was crazy but they shut up.

Things have gotten so much worse since then that I actually attend movies quite rarely. If I really want to see something right now and it's not available otherwise, one of the many streaming services will probably have it for $5.99. I wind up doing that about twice a year.

Actually going to the trouble to leave my house and place myself in an environment that requires the utmost courtesy be shared between everyone in the room, knowing full well that a substantial number of the occupants of that room will be immature boors, is lunacy.

If I had an Alamo Drafthouse or something similar convenient to me, I'd probably go out to the movies quite a bit. I love movies.

    I just hate audiences.

    Of course.

I owe it to you. I owe anybody who'd accept that stupid joke about "stacking tolerances" I made when you asked me why the rear sight on my XP was cattywampus. :)

About a decade ago, I was at a movie where some ~14year olds kept popping in and out of the hallway.

They'd pop in, be obnoxious, try to communicate with their friends seated a few rows in front of us, then go back out.

Finally, I'd had enough, so the next time I saw their little gopher heads pop in and look up at their friends, I seared their ugly little eyeballs with 400 lumens of Surefire light for a split second.

    They stopped.

The best part was, nobody knew what happened and was looking around bewildered. Didn't have to worry about any ghetto parents demanding to know why I taught their kids some basic human decency

    a perfectly reasonable explanation
As a serious aside, it wasn't reasonable. I talked to the manufacturer. It eventually became obvious they were not aware of the different generations of XP actions. They didn't know the old ones had the flat(ter) rear bridge. Since they didn't make the sight they advertised and I needed, I got a free mount for another rifle from them and we called it even.

I’ve lived in Tyler 27 years. Never knew we had a Regal theatre. But then I refuse to support all of those Hollywood hypocrites by not going to movies or buying them anymore.

Why the gun community continues to support those Hollywood snowflakes that are trying to disarm it is beyond me.
