Eagle in Lewisville is nice; they just opened one in Addison South of beltline on Midway but have not been there yet. Really like Elm Fork for outside shooting.

While a big fan of asian food in general, I would have expected you Cali expats to celebrate his first taste of freedom with Texas barbeque or TexMex...

It is a fact that Carrollton has a high density of Korean BBQ joints and that is the first thing I think about when someone mentions Carrollton.

Man, I remember when I moved out here years ago. Went to Hard Eight and I was like damn.....Lucille's is garbage BBQ (a 'bbq' chain in California).....this is the real deal! Been to Hutchins, Hard Eight, Lockharts....any other recommendations in the North DFW areas? Anyone do a decent beef rib? Haven't been to Pecan Lodge, but many people say its overrated so I'm torn about investing in the wait.

Ill go! last time I checked you can use steel core. I asked the RO about Tula and he said anything BUT tracers and I believe armor piercing rounds
Last time I was at Eagle, Lewisville they called a cold range while FD used a Flir down range. Was told someone popped off a tracer but never heard the back story... they left, we continued shooting...

It doesn’t get much better than Hutchins and Lockhart’s in DFW.
Hard 8 is close behind IMHO.

Pecan Lodge is excellent as well, but not worth the wait when it’s crazy busy. But here’s a secret: you can sit at the bar and order food there, to avoid a long line...assuming there’s room at the bar.

Mesomaya has some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had. It’s from deeper Mexico/Mexico city, so not Tex Mex or Baja Mex like many of us may be used to.

Google Korean BBQ Buffet, there is one there just off Harry Hines and here to tell ya its as authentic as being in Korea where I spent 12 mo of my life. There are 2 eateries in the same building. Downstairs is a walk in and order off the menu, upstairs is the BBQ and you cook it right at your table WOW, you will love it.

Try out North Main BBQ [ http://bbqnorthmain.com ] over in Euless, on Euless Main St, a couple of blocks N on Main off of Hwy 183 W of the S entrance to DFW airport. Unless its changed (doubt it) its an all you can eat place, cash only and cheap. When you go please post up and tell me how much it costs to eat there. It was $10 bucks when I started going there back in the 80's.

It was a truck repair shop run by Old Man Green who BBQ on Fri and Sat behind the strip shopping center. Today IIRC Old Man Green owns the strip center and it where he does his BBQ today.

Simple place, Ribs, Brisket, Chicken, Sausage, beans onions, Jalapeno's, you put it on your plate, eat, go back put more on.

I eat there every-time I am in the Dallas area.

Dallas-Ft Worth has some of the best food offerings of any place in the US, hands down, bar none.

Party: From Sundance Square in downtown Ft Worth, be sure to stop in at the Flying Saucer where they about 1 million beers on tap and GREAT FOOD. To Greenville Ave and on Greenville from the N end to the S end there is a party for everybody and everyone and every flavor you can dream of.

That said a word of caution is in order: Be careful, it can make a strong man stumble, preacher throw his bible down and you can wake up in a haze and wonder what in the hell has happened. I lived there from the 60's till about 2002. Unless things have changed it has the highest divorce rate in the world, there is no shortage of extremely good looking women in Dallas and the fast lane in Dallas can be a lot faster then you have ever run. I moved over to the Ft Worth side of the Trinity River, little town called Colleyville, not a lot there other than homes and one of the best school districts in the US as I understood. Quiet and exactly becoming a single man, but it was close to DFW where Monday am found me on a plane...

Welcome, where in the Dallas area are you ? I'm in Grand Prairie but used to live in San Marcos California before I came to my senses and moved here over 12 years ago.
    ESCO VIEJO ESSE!!!! :D

Born/raised in Esco, then meandered around from Vista to San Marcos to Mira Mesa for 13 years, then back to North County, and then to Richardson in '14.

Im all for that brother, just trying to find the best ranges/"land" to go shooting on.

Hello! Moved from Thousand Oaks last year and finding ranges are tricker than one might think. Ended up at TDSA in Ferris.
Land is tricky too; no BLM land with free-for-all. Land is private, so buy some, or make land owning friends...
    I’m working on friends.
(Need boat friends too but that’s another issue)
