I Plan on Friday and Saturday. Maybe Sunday.

Supposed to be an off-site meeting at Eddie Deen's BBQ Ranch right near the convention center as well that is on Sat. 05 May @ 19:00. Brownell's, Iraqveteran8888 and MAC are supposed to hosting this event I believe.

I'm going. Driving up Thursday. I've been to 2 of these conventions in Houston and they were SO MUCH FUN!!!!

A little nervous about protesters. At the last Houston meeting, there were about 10 protesters and the media was having a terrible time trying to make it look like there were more. (versus 100,000 people attending the meeting) But Dallas is not Houston and all the money being funneled into the anti-2A people this year might bring out a crowd. I don't want to get into trouble, but I have very little patience (make that 'no patience') for those idiots.

Two Dallas cops just get shot a few days ago. I am sure after that, they will be cracking skulls if any commies show up and start stuff

Written email communication I received from the NRA says as long as you follow the law pertaining to carry, then they’re good with it.

And a quick Google of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center shows CC or OC is permitted unless the type of event being held would prevent it (presumably something like Duncanville HS upcoming graduation ceremony to be held there).

CBS (channel 11) Dallas news tonight, says during VP Pence’s keynote speech at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum, no guns, knives or weapons of any kind will be allowed. I believe this came from the Secret Service. Additionally, President Trump is to attend the convention according to tonight’s newscast. However, they didn’t have any details on his schedule.

The CBS newscast also said three separate “protests” were scheduled - the first to be at city hall on Friday. Dallas police are to have a “strong presence”.

    Got tips?
Lots, but here's a big one.

Hang around at the very end of the show, as everybody is leaving and the exhibitors are starting to pack up.

Obviously there are no guns for sale. However, at the end of the show the exhibitors are completely worn out. Sometimes they'll latch onto any excuse to get out of packing up all the crap in their booth.

I've seen $20 books given away for free just because they're so heavy to pack and ship back home. I've seen exotic leather luggage pieces that would normally sell for $2500 offered for $800.

If you notice something during the show that you'd like to have, especially if it's bulky, heavy, and a PITA to take back home, let the exhibitor know you're interested. At the end of the show, just be in the area when that exhibitor is forced to look at it and try to figure how to get it back home. Then, out of the kindness of your heart, offer to help reduce the burden in their life. :)

Seriously, though, you generally don't have to try to be sly about this. In my experience, on the last day of the show exhibitors will notice you noticing something they have on display. Often, they'll volunteer that they don't want to pack it up and invite you to be back at a certain time with cash if you'd like to have it. Those discounts can be huge.

Due to the attendance of the Vice President of the United States, the U.S. Secret Service will be responsible for event security at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum. As a result, firearms and firearm accessories, knives or weapons of any kind will be prohibited in the forum prior to and during his attendance. We will be posting a longer list of prohibited items in the near future.

They are also reporting that Trump will be there Friday also.

Even though they are claiming this is for the Leadership forum, betting the Secret Service won't allow concealed or open carry firearms in the Convention Center until after President and V.P. have gone.
If you're taking the Dart train to the Convention Center there won't be any place to lock up your firearm if it's not allowed in the building.
