Getting out of Dallas, just put an offer in on a place in Duncanville.

I suppose I should have started this thread before we made the offer...anyone have any opinions about this city?

Our current place is an acre on a hill, so little of it is useable.
New place is on a flat acre.
Owner is a professional landscaper, and it shows...

Housing dollars sure go far when you’re outside of the big city.

I live in Grand Prairie (right next to Duncanville) and go there often. It seems like a nice town, there's a neat "downtown" area there and it used to have a great Japanese restaurant until they moved.
That place you show in the pictures looks beautiful.

    Thanks!
Inside isn’t quite as nice as out side, but we like it.

It’s my wife’s dream house, plenty of room to plant a garden for homegrown veggies. She also wants chickens...we’ll see about that.

We haven’t had a chance to scope out the city yet, looking forward to it.

I have a feeling yard work and a riding mower are in my future...

My wife got some chickens a little over a year ago (she's got 6 of them). You and your wife are more than welcome to come over and check out our chickens (and we can shoot the shit about guns and such, and see how she's got her chicken coop setup as well as her gardens in the backyard and how to protect them FROM the chickens (because they WILL eat the garden).

    That would be great!
We’ll definitely take you up on the offer!

Toshio's moved to Waxahachie for a while but closed recently which is a shame.

It must be profitable to be a pornstar, oops, I mean pronstar.

I hate being that CA transplant guy...but asking price for this place doesn’t even buy a shack in Compton, or a condo in the ‘hood, or really anything within 100 miles of the coast in CA.

Our mortgage will be less than what we paid for rent in LA, and that was for a shitty 800 square foot house, in a questionable area, that needed a LOT of work.
