The wieners on Austin City Counsel have done it again.

"Rearming APD could cost taxpayers up to 500k thanks to new ordinance"
    https://texas.mn/2wCW2qJ
“The concern that drove this resolution was one that we did not want our police department to be contributing guns out into the community, guns that could then … be used on our police and on our community,” the author of the ordinance, Alison Alter

Last DPS guy that pulled me over had a P320... I'm ok if they destroy those ;)

    WHAT?

The ONLY folks who benefit from this virtue-signalling decision are dealers--specifically whichever dealer gets to make the sale. And whatever manufacturer produces the pistols chosen, of course. It's just a pretty "stoopid" situation with a high cost to--ding ding--the taxpayers.

    WHAT?

It would be hard to overstate the level of stupidity in that comment. These are 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P's right? And that's a high enough caliber that police can use them?

I weep for our country. These people are willfully ignorant and clueless beyond description. I truly cannot envision any scenario under which one might have any semblance of a productive dialog with such a person. Something is going to give.

Thank heavens Texas has pre-emption. Can you imagine what these imbeciles would do if given the chance?

Kind of like preachers & boot leggers working together to keep a county dry.

Hey, it ain't their money. Just taxpayer money.

This was plain stupid. They had the ability to make $600 off of those sales. They could have put that money into Law Enforcement ortheir pet homeless or affordable housing projects but they piss it away virtue signaling.

This 10-1 City Council has been the worse idea that has been implemented in a long time. Now they plan on closing Congress Avenue to automobile traffic for pedestrian use. Stupid. They have so much other important crap to worry about that they continue to ignore.
