You don't have to worry about Ruger making them. Someone will step up and do it if they do not.

As far as me and the Mailman that could be a shady deal.

Agreed that's the case today- but with the modular magwell design, there is no reasonable reason they couldn't make magwell inserts for S&W M&P, S&W 59 series, Beretta 92, Sig 226, even HK VP9 or CZ75.

Why make the magwell a modular "insert" design if you're only going to support your own mags and Glock?... it's like 3/4 of a good implementation.

Even Kel-Tec got that part right with the Sub2000, it would be stupid not to at least try and release support for more mags.
Actually it's more cost effective for ruger to produce one part that's not too complicated. Keeps their tooling change time down. Plus why not have extra magwells on you? If this carbine is reliable and durable I can see myself getting one. I have a sub2000 and it's just for plinking and pest control. No way I'd take it camping where a keltec might actually have to save my life.

Shrug my Keltec firearms I have 5 have never let me down I would feel as safe with one of them as a Glock or any other firearm. I am not saying I have never had a malfunction but as far as I can tell < and I am not real smart > it has never been the gun that has failed.

It's hard to mess up a 9mm blowback gun. My biggest issue with the sub2000 is it's construction. I'm glad your guns work for you and you like them. I just want to see keltec use better parts. They are the harbor freight of guns. I will say its accuracy is nice.

I guess if you are taking them to war diving into fox holes tossing them over walls you need to climb ect ect ect I guess I could see some of kel tecs products not being up to snuff.

The worst my guns see are a random accidental drop or getting tossed into the back of a car/truck.

And for the most part my Harbor Freight tools do just fine and have held up good for tools that are not used and abused daily.

I would just as soon KT keep up with what they are doing so I don't have to pay 3K for a rifle

I hear you on the quality/ruggedness... kel-tec is good at innovating, but they lack in production capacity and "ruggedness"... I like things about their designs, but they cheap out when they could make truly amazing firearms. Other manufacturers could learn something from them... and vice-versa. For example, the RFB has great design elements, but isn't tough enough to be anyone's MBR. As a right handed person that shoots lefty due to eye dominance, I wish it could be.

I finally got to the indoor range with my PC Carbine. The first order of business was to zero the scope. I'm using a UTG 3-9x32mm BugBuster mounted on the receiver with Weaver #12 scope bases. Prior to going to the range, I used a Bushnell laser boresighter to get an approximate zero at about 10 yds. This worked nicely to get me on paper and then I zeroed it at 25 yds. With that done, I fired about 100 rds with no failures. I tried two different ammo types and weights: 124 gr GECO FMJ and Aguila 115 gr FMJ. Shots were fired with the fore end resting on my range bag using 17 round Ruger mags. I'm pleased with the result but I'm looking forward to getting to the outdoor range to see what the firearm can do at longer distances. Also, I need to install the Glock adapter so that I can test performance using a couple of Glock 26 mags that I just got.

Here is a pic of a 150 shot group I did with my gen 1 PC Carbine off hand standing at about 40 yards.( iron sights)

I would love to get one of the new ones, but the one my wife gave me for my 33rd birthday is still about flawless.

When they make it in 10mm I’ll pick one up.

It’s pure genius to make them
Compatible with Glock mags. They are cheap, easy to find, most normal
people own a few, there are high capacity variants available and even Chinese/Korean knock offs available as well as drums.

I see no value to making them compatible with every gun magazine maker out there.

True. But it absolutely makes sense that Ruger would make it use Ruger mags. The fact that they had the foresight and good sense (and weren't too proud) to recognize that making it use the ubiquitous GLOCK MAGS just says a lot to me about how well Ruger is facing reality in the biz.

I'm abnormal, I don't see a need to own a single Glock mag... since I don't own a single Glock. So I assign zero value for being comptible with something I dont own... how odd of me.

I do own some bricks and 2x4s... they feel roughly the same to me, does that count?:what:

I dunno . . . but you are self-identified as out on the Lunyfringe. Wait. Wut?

I've got two other pistol-caliber carbines* that use GLOCK® mags, so this new Ruger of mine can feed from the same trough. That would be a good thing, even if I did NOT own a GLOCK® pistol. ;)

The political left identifies me as a lunatic fringe, I just embrace the title.
They would likely identify everybody on this site as lunatic fringe.
