We can do it, but are you okay with your taxes going up 25%?
Moving to Texas, I'm already pissed I have to deal with yearly vehicle stuff, road tolls, sales tax and I'm sure other fees. Fees fees and more fees. In oregon there is no sales tax, reg. Is every few years, no deq, no tolls, but if you want anything back in taxes you're getting raped at 23 percent state income tax. Sorry for rambling. You just used the t word and I got all pissy. Lol.

I can see it now. Even if the tax hike for this wasn't that bad the libs will somehow fight it and see the only option to make our kids safe is give up our guns. *looks around for grasshopperglock to get in on his jokes*

Someone mentioned that in Brewster County they don't have the funds that Harris County has . . . well, duh. And likewise, Brewster has a much lower number of schools that would need hardening and guards to pay for. It all works out and doesn't need to equate to the "25% tax rate increase" that one poster hypothesized.

Maybe trump can clean some federal funding for schools to hire security.

    Staged arrivals will be problematic.

People would be surprised how long it takes to get even a few hundred through a security checkpoint.
There's always a way . . . even if it means precious heirs and heiresses need to get up earlier and arrive sooner.

Wow, that is pretty pissy. Dallas is the 4th most expensive city to live in in Texas.

Yes, but it takes someone with the commitment to use it. I suspect there are people who don't get their LTC or whatever because their snowflake mentality.
I don't suggest all teachers carry, nor want all teachers carrying. I believe that someone that has already made a commitment to carry has a mind to do what it takes to protect themselves and those that they care for. Although I teach college, I carry, and so do many other teachers, and guess what? There hasn't been one incident of AD/ND or threats to students with a gun.

Nobody would ask someone to carry that didn't want to carry; however, it might be nice if the bureaucracy could get out of the way of permitting those teachers who both WANT to carry and are LICENSED to carry do so while at work.

Lots of schools already have a RSO or security guard. Lotta good that did in Parkland... I think it has more to do with the pussification of America than anything else. Both in why these events happen and how people can't seem to deal with them.

I don't think you understand.. an RSO Handles drugs, fights, and all criminal activity on the campus... Armed Security.. and I've never seen armed security at any school, I've seen unarmed security that were glorified traffic monitors before and after school.... but armed security would need to be posted at every entrance.. That's 18 officers at the school I work at alone...

Self explanatory: "American policymakers should look to Israel for guidance. Living constantly with the threat of terrorism, Israel solved the problem of school security long ago by hardening the target and tightening security practices. Every school with 100 or more students has at least one well-trained armed guard stationed at entrances to monitor who comes and goes."

I don't think you grasp the sarcasm of the Broward County sheriff surname ISRAEL in the context of my reply!!!!
