To add, even when people plainly see the gun, most won't say a word. I carry when I go to the parks with my kids, and I run around with them quite a bit. When I'm going up the climbing structures it easily reveals the gun when my arms are raised, and I know for sure other parents have noticed. Not once has anyone said anything one way or the other, hurriedly escorted their children away, called the law, etc.

I OC...so people SHOULD be noticing my gun. In reality, however, very FEW people notice (most are unaware of their surroundings anyway). I've even been standing right in front of people talking to them and they still don't notice. One was sitting at a table (restaurant) so my gun was at eye-level -- STILL didn't notice.
So given my experience OCing (for years now), if you CC pretty much NO ONE will notice, no matter how badly you're concealing (bulge, printing).
In short, I wouldn't worry a bit about CCing -- no one will know unless you tell them.

If you're really worried, get a belt holster for your cell phone and carry it at 9:00. That will balance things out so a bulge on one side isn't noticeable.

Plus, if you carry your cell phone on a belt holster, that kinda becomes the only place to carry it.

... My work has a weapons policy that “with permission” will allow CC with a “training” with strict paranoid guidelines (that is going to make CC a pain), guidelines like no carrying in company vehicles (which we take to sketchy community areas in the public, thanks!). They are never going to get around to “teaching,”.....

Sounds more like a CYA policy in case they get sued down the road. If they were really against it, they would just say no, not leave a gray area.

They CAN’T say “no,” because they have government funding and are not allowed to post anymore if they keep that funding. I think they figured out that they were not allowed to restrict LTC employees either. The retained company lawyer updated us two years ago now on that via email.

They were not happy to take down their old “gunbuster” sign. When the open carry statute came into effect, the email circulated says that “unfortunately” we cannot prevent the public from carrying at the facility. So that’s pretty telling.

But not finishing to implement the policy to allow employee LTC is kinda like saying “no” without saying “no,” no?

Many who post those signs don't really understand the Law, or what they are doing. Why don't you explain to management that the signs cannot and do not restrict criminals, only licensed persons who have been vetted and trained.

If you are talking to me, I won’t be able to explain anything to that lawyer.
I’m quite sure that she/they understand the law and still just don’t care for people carrying guns to be anywhere around.

The company being associated with the government (state) funding are not allowed to post signs anymore, but have not finished implementing their “training” protocol for employees who wish to exercise LTC.

If you put it that way, it sounds like they're trying, but were forced to leave the same open gray area. But probably enough they would fire you if they found out.

It’s an ‘at will’ state, so if they want to fire me they can, for most anything if it comes right down to it, but, honestly, it probably won’t.

That job is important to me but I’ve decided not so important that I’ll give up carrying legally on more days than not. Occasionally I’ll skip if it’s really difficult or problematic for whatever reason, but I’m pretty happy to have made the bed I’ll lie in with regard to that issue.

my old job called me back after laying me off last year. they're 30.06-07 posted. i decided to take the job. instant benefits same pay i had when i got laid off and my sick time and vacation time start over (since they laid me off last year) so i'll come back to work like i never left. if they were gonna start me over i wouldn thave taken it due to the fact theyre posted. BUT on the flip side theres security everywhere and you need a keypass to even get in the gates so it's fairly secure.

Yeah, I get that. Having security means a lot.

We have no security at all and the keypad lock on the door past the lobby needs reset a certain way to properly engage; it’s a way that people can’t seem to master half the time. I’m not ok with that.

It’s a small office and my appearance is not often scrutinized. Two of the four days I work, no supervisor is even there. On the other days, we are all too busy to give each other a second look. I feel pretty ok about my decision.

Just buy more guns and holsters until you’re comfortable.

After I started carrying, I told my wife I understand why she has so many shoes.

There’s a different gun and holster for each occasion.

My job doesn’t allow CC and it’s not practical so I don’t. The rest of the time I usually print but I don’t give a rats ass. I agree with the comment I really don’t think most people even notice.

I think it's about time I responded to this thread. As far as I know, I'm allowed to CC at my work. I got a CYA holster for my shield and carried that for 2-3 days. I have a Red Republic Tactical belt. I ended up buying a button up shirt online... (I've been wanting some for a while now) but I ordered a size way too big. I'm not sure if I will fit in the next size down according to the sizing chart. For my G17 I put the cant all the way forwards and it is more comfortable and hides a bit better, but I haven't tested it out much, yet. It is a little awkward to draw.

I thought while CCing, my gun was supposed to never/barely print. Which is why I'm questioning myself. I was originally wanting to reply with pictures of my printing, but never got around to it.

It’s that whole “as far as I know” thing that might get ya.

Not knowing if you can, combined with “not well concealed” might cause a problem you don’t want to face.

But if you keep working at it and tweaking your CC system, success is surely coming to you soon.

I have had to decide between deep concealed plus convenient, comfortable carry and a fast draw, in my personal CC experiences so far (I wear a corset holster under a blouse that’s heavily pleated above where I wear my firearm). I chose the option that offered me deeper concealment and more comfort and convenience over the fastest draw. I haven’t given up improving my draw, but in my case I felt compelled to make the trade off as I MUST conceal well in the situation I described earlier (while at a job).

Not sure but it seems if you’re in a similar situation of making trade offs for now. With a G17, you definitely have to overcome some CC challenges with that big of a firearm.

Printing is not open carry. As long as the gun is covered it is considered concealed. Rules at a workplace may vary. Where I work it has to be concealed, but the only other requirement is that you can't shadow it, basically have your hand as if you are ready to draw.
