I am in the market for a new firearm for carry, but can not make up my mind. I have narrowed my selection down to the 4 pistols....

SIG SAUER 1911 EMPEROR SCORPION 45 ACP

SIG SAUER P220-10 EMPEROR SCORPION 10MM

    GLOCK G21SF 45 ACP

SIG SAUER 1911 WE THE PEOPLE 45 ACP

There is no single gun that everyone will agree is the best carry gun, it's a personal choice. The best advice I can give you is to try them out and imagine as your shooting them "is this what I wouldn't mind carrying around all day?". Personally, I don't have a single gun that I carry exclusively, depends a lot on the time of year and whether I'm open carrying or concealed.

Go with what you like, not what everyone else likes.

true, i agree with that response. just pretty much getting an idea on caliber difference. yeah ive fired the .45 many of times and there easier to buy, but the 10 mm not so experience with at all. wasn't really sure if anyone would recommend that as a carry caliber. actually heard it more as a hunting round.

Do you currently have any handguns, perhaps some smaller ones? I can't imagine carrying such a large gun on the regular.

I could, but ive been caring a Ruger 9E 9mm for a while, and it time for me to upgrade, .40 yeah is ok, .380 is to small for my hand, as well is .22 ( which is wife's gun till she upgrades) and ive always wanted a 1911 since i lost my grandfather Colt 1911 in a home robbery with other firearms.

If you've always wanted a 1911 then why not now...which eliminates two from your list.

I'd go with the Scorpion in this case.
I think the We The People gun would be a better safe queen.

Of those mentioned, the Emperor Scorpion wins my vote hands down. The “We the People” Sig definitely not one I would consider a carry gun but I’m sure some have probably done it

If you go the 10mm route, just be aware that for true "full power" loads, you pretty much can't buy off the shelf. Otherwise you may as well buy .40S&W.

    I've carried a 1911 for going on 38 years.

A full sized 1911 is HEAVY. Also I have a problem with the pistol riding up when I sit down. That 5" barrel is just a bit too long.

My preference for EDC is a LW Commander sized 1911. This is pretty much what I've carried for all of those 38 years.

I've got three 10mm 1911 pistols. Two full sized and one Commander sized. The Commander is NOT a lightweight.

I load all my own ammo and for me 10mm is a bit much for EDC. There's a lot more muzzle flip and rise with full house 10mm loads as compared to full house .45 ACP loads.

Sig is making an excellent 1911. I am very pleased with all of mine.

For EDC, personally I use either a 1911 CCO or compact. However, over the years I have known of a number of people who carried the full size.

I don't worry about the weight of a 1911. Heck, a person's weight can vary 2-3 pounds throughout the day. Just get a good steel reinforced belt (which is the same advice I would give for any handgun). A good belt is hugely important to a good draw and comfortable carry.
