I went to wal mart to pick up some meds. Instead of going to the pharmacy I instinctively went to sporting goods and proceeded to purchase 400 rds of 165 grain winchester 40 S&W. THEN I went to the pharmacy and got my meds. lol. I think that brings me up to 1400 target rounds and 260 self defense rounds... I need to stop buying ammo I have nowhere to put it. My ammo box is full, my range bag is full, and my 10 mags are full... I guess I could take my ammo out of the boxes and throw it into the ammo box like bulk ammo... eh ill probably just buy another ammo box haha. either way i found it odd that I walked out of there with ammo when i had no intention of buying any on the way up there. good thing I wasn't at atwoods. I woulda come out with a new gun or two. :loaded:

    Those are rookie numbers.

You need an “ammo closet.” With A little notebook that’s a record as to how many rounds of what caliber are stacked on each shelf. Just sayin’.

I think your amusement/ concern about this might have you going in the wrong direction. It’s not that you’ve gone too far. You aren’t going far enough with this. XD

    Gunz are icky.
There are these things called G.I. ammo cans.
    They stack nicely.
"Fat Fifty" is the type you seek.
    Buy a bunch of'em.

You're getting close. I don't feel comfortable unless I have 2k of each caliber on hand. If I shoot a hundred rounds, I buy a hundred rounds just to keep it at 2k.

I unloaded my truck the other day because I had to take it in for new tires.

I pulled around 7000 rounds of .45 ACP, 1500 rounds of 9mm, and 500 rounds of 10mm out of it.

I have no idea how much ammo I have on hand. I did a rough count of the .22 LR the other day and it's around 44,000 rounds.

That picture looks about right. Mine is WAY less uniform than that. I have some small boxes of heavy cardboard that I recycle from amazon orders that I’ve filled with ammo and taped shut for now and use a sharpie to label the caliber and round count. It’s a good way to hoard ammo and have it easy to move if needed. Just need to circulate it after a while.

I've been using the plastic ammo cans that are sold at Walmart. They hold up really well and hold enough ammo that I shouldn't be picking them up. They also stack nicely.
