...the Dems put all their efforts in Speaker of the House and passing him off as a Republican.

Looks like that approach worked.... since the “pro-Straus” faction got the upper hand in the Primaries. ☹️

Hopefully the Legislature won’t find quite as strong a RINO this time around!

She claims she was paying installments as she didn't have the money to pay on time but after the news ran with her delinquency, she was able to pay all her back taxes. She blamed Greg Abbott for not being able to pay her taxes as her rates were too high.

Read that too. First thought was, "Did Abbott also force her into buying more properties then she could afford?" If not, then it seems like the issue is one of personal and fiscal responsibity rather then any particular tax rate.

I'm sure though, in her mind she was somehow entitled to all that property, hence the reluctance at actually paying taxes on them.

    To All,

Lupe Valdez has avbout the same chance of being elected Governor as I do & I'm NOT in the race.

I'll be shocked if Lupe gets 35% of the popular vote. = Being a statewide DIMocRATS candidate is a SURE LOSER.
(Pardon me for reminding everyone, who was FREAKING OUT, that I came within 2% of guessing Wendy Davis' percentage of the votes cast in the general election.)

White was the only one with a chance but he still wouldn't have come close. The big liberal cities would have supported him 100%. Lupe is off the rails even with some of her rants while in law enforcement. Funny she blames her tax problems on the tax laws being too complex. Really? I get a proposed evaluation, final evaluation and tax bill EVERY year of owning property in Texas. If that's too complex then she really doesn't need to be governing since that's a very complex job.

    dsgrey,

NO DIMocRAT, who has a chance of getting the support of the LEFTISTS of the DP, has a prayer of winning any Texas Statewide office. = The MORON LEFT controls the DP in 2018.

Thankfully we don't have her as sheriff in Dallas County any more as she made sure the county was a safe haven for illegals.

    sat78247,
So that’s your marker on the ground (35%)?

While I don’t think she has a snowball’s chance, I’ll go on record as saying it wouldn’t surprise me, if she doesn’t do better than that. I think it’ll depend on the Left’s turn out at the polls. She’s got two demographics that may be more motivated to turn out for her, than Wendy Davis had. In fact, Wendy’s “Plan Parenthood” position, if anything, served to motivate people to turn out to vote against her. Not that she was necessarily perceived as a blonde bimbo, but she was just a mundane Dem Party Plank supporter - nothing special made her stand out. If Hispanics buy into Lupe’s line and the LGBTQXYZ community does too, they propell her to a higher percentage. (Just my thoughts, YMMV!)

    busykngt,

My guess is that she will get 34-36 percent of the General Election vote.

    Sounded contradictory to me Satx.

    easy rider,

IF one is a Democrat in TX, it's FAR from contradictory, inasmuch as the MORON LEFT picks the primary winner & gives the majority of the campaign's funds BUT the mass of self-identified TX Democrats are FAR more conservative than the "Progressives" are.

That dichotomy is WHY I believe that by the time that President Pence takes the oath of office that the DIMocRATS will be a PERMANENT minority party, UNTIL/UNLESS that the DNC "purges" their party of the FAR LEFT. - I do NOT see the "leadership" & "party professionals" being intelligent enough to DUMP the MORON LEFT.
(THOUSANDS of moderate DP members are leaving their traditional party each month to be "independents" or "non aligned".)

ADDENDA: The 2 precincts that I'm the Presiding Election Judge for (NOT where I live) are largely Latino, Roman Catholic & about 2.5-1 DEM/GOP. ===>The Latinos in those 2 precincts do NOT support her due to what they regard as "anti-RC" beliefs. - I believe that the same is true for most religious Catholics.

Note" My adult/adopted daughter calls her "LOONY LUPE, the agnostic". = My daughter is FAR from alone in the Latino/RC community.
(Btw, my daughter is a naturalized American citizen & I've heard nobody say "ILLEGAL alien" any more firmly than she does.)

I get what you're saying now.

    easy rider,

SORRY that I wasn't clear. MEA CULPA!!

Also, the religious RC voters HAVE NOT & WILL NOT forget the ugly scene at the 2016 DP National Convention, when the delegates started chanting, "F@#$ Mary, F@#$ Mary" & "NO GOD, NO GOD" for several minutes.
(ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC & NBC "quickly cut away" but GALA, PBS & some of the smaller Spanish language cable channels kept right on covering the HATEFULNESS.)
