Just purchased this jewel. I fired over a hundred rounds thru one of these and it impressed me so much that I bought one. Has some great features such as a decocker which lets you leave a round in the chamber then move the slide back about 1/2 inch and it cocks and ready to shoot, To me that's impressive. Very easy to disassemble and reassemble. You can actually do it with one hand if you want to. I am eager to take it to the range in a few days and put a few break-in rounds thru it. Also come in a 40 cal.
This website gives all the details and a picture.

Does decocking it leave the trigger dead & requires a press check-sized pull on slide to reactivate trigger as per a TTAG review?

Yes--the decocker leaves the trigger dead. Once the trigger is dead, then you can do the "press check" you mention to cock the striker mechanism. The models with the decocker tend to be the least desirable in the Canik line of handguns. I've got three Canik pistols now and they're fantastic shooters. Great prices, solid quality, and reliable, reliable, reliable.

I have the SA (single action) If there is a round in the chamber ready to fire and you press the decocker, the striker drops and the trigger is deactivated. when you want to fire , You do not need to do a full slide pull, you only pull the slide back i/2 inch and the striker and trigger are good to go. Some of the youtube videos show only using one hand to do this. I personally like this feature.

Weird. The original that was copied by Canik, i.e. the Walther P99, if you press the decocker, the trigger goes into double action and pulling the slide back about a quarter of an inch, it's back into single action.

If you're hard up for money but still want a high quality handgun of this style, get the Magnum Research, available as MR9/MR40 (I'll give you three guesses what caliber these are in and the first two guesses don't count.), and in 4 and 4.5 inch. Same price point as the Caniks, uses actual Walther made grips/receives and American made slides and barrels.

I don’t know what you’re trying to prove with this post?

One can simply google “any gun maker” problems and get more results that one would care to read.

The Canik TP9DA is the Walther P99 copy, with the DA/SA striker fired operation and a decocker.

That could also mean that you have not shot many different pistols.

ETA: Don't get upset, I said "could".

Which is a fair criticism. I've only fired maybe 300 models of pistol.. some of them high end and some of them not high end. I can pretty much guarantee with some certainty that under 600 dollars you will not find a finer pistol than a Canik TP9

I'd be hard pressed to recall shooting half that many .
