rml1974, do NOT throw away your Illinois FOID. Texas recognizes it as a valid permit.

Please check out the link below and select The People's Republic of Illinois. You'll see the PDF that was signed off by the Governor's office.
We, the citizens of The Great State of Texas, urge you to get the Texas LTC permit as soon as you can so that you are educated about the firearm laws here in The Great State of Texas.

A FOID isn't good for concealed carry. It's a Government permission slip to be able to own and handle firearms and ammo in the great state of Illinois.

    Yes Sir. Welcome to freedom.

In addition to tornadoes, hurricanes, rattlesnakes and scorpions, we also have stinkin high property taxes. But we have a governor that appears to want to try and fix that.

But as far as firearms go, we are 1000000000X better than Illinois.

While Illinois gets tornadoes it is not in the area most commonly referred to as Tornado Ally.
Agreed, but today and for quite some time now, it is considered a part of it:

    https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2017-dixie-alley-storms/
    https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/climate-information/extreme-events/us-tornado-climatology/tornado-alley

I found all of these articles that seem to back up the stories my mother told me about the weather, specifically tornadoes, growing up in St. Louis, Missouri combined with extensive time I've spent there with my grandparents growing up.

I went to college at SIUE. Meet my wife of 20 years there. Other than that I really can't say a lot of good things about Illinois. Moved back to Texas 2 weeks after graduating.

    Bejeezus.....yer in 29?

    Im sooo sorry! :vanish:
Nothing to be sorry for. We have been here for over 30yrs and if CA hadn't gone full retard would happily spend our retirement years here as well. As my grandson liked to say, "you can't be a pussy and live in 29'.

That being said, if you look at my location you will see it also lists our new location in AZ. A place we hope to be full time at by the end of this year, now that my wife's work comp case finally settled after dragging in for 4yrs.
