Well I had a little stash of nice rimfire rings and gave them to an employees son when he got his first .22. Picked up a few 22’s this year for myself and all I could find in town were Simmons. The heads strip out with no strength at all. They would have never stood a chance with my Wheeler Fat Wrench. These are worse than those five dollar Daisy rings. Absolutely terrible! Had to drill the heads off!

I've got a couple pair of Simmons rings, never had a problem with them. Then again, I've never tried to go all Conan the Barbarian on the screws :) I just put a dab of thread adhesive on there and snug 'em down.

I've had lots of problems with lots of different rings over the years. Nothing teaches you to appreciate quality rimfire rings more than a Hammerli that won't accept anything that's not hard as steel and razor sharp. In my search for rings to fit that particular gun, I managed to buy and either ruin or discard about a dozen sets of rings.

There's a lotta junk out there.

The cheapest rings I'll use are SWFA. Got a set for free when they were blowing out the last discontinued Bushnell Elite fixed 10x scopes.

Sad thing is I didn’t take the Wheeler torque wrench to it. Even more disappointing that I bought the scope for the Rings
