A buddy of mine from work just traded his smoker for a AR10 panther. I was in debt to him for a hot tub, so I hooked him up with a scope for it. I told him I'd install it for him. I went over to pick it up and it was stupid dirty. So I told him i'd clean it for him. Problem I ran into is it has some sort of quick detach mount for a can... and I can't get it to budge. I got down on it yesterday and just barley warped the where the wrench goes. Any ideas on getting this thing to loosen up? I have another muzzle device I can put on for him if this mount gets tore up in the process. I can't get the gas block/tube off or hand-guard with the muzzle device in the way.

try a heat wrench....put the propane torch on it for about 15-20 seconds & try to bust it loose. That should help. Did you check to see if its pinned?

You may need a carbon dissolver to break it loose. Get some at a good auto supply store to dissolve the Carbon. You might also want to try one "Freeze off" I think they call it, I have some out in the shop and use it to break frozen bolts/nuts. Also available at t auto parts store. Try the carbon dissolver first. You may need to torch it and immediately follow with the freeze.

    Pics would help.

Any luck? I hate red thread locker. If you haven't yet get or make yoyrself barrel blocks from say particle board. I'm sure I'm telling you stuff you already know. With stuck muzzle attachments I like to get the muzzle as close to the blocks as possible. Then with a propper fitting wrench and things taped up I like to get in tight with my arms tucked into my body. More control and force.helps with not having an oops.

Remember when you get a new break or flash hider on to use a wee bit of anti seize. Carbon will lock these suckers on their own.
