He played at the Cypress Saloon a few years ago & one of my buddy's that plays local opened up for him. Met him right after my buddy played & we were breaking down. Only talked to him for a few but seemed like pretty cool & down to earth guy....ohhh & the show was excellent.

He worked for Frito Lay in Frisco for a while. Kept working at his music, then quit to pursue it full time.

Yep, music business tough. Some of the good ones make it, but you gotta have the talent. There's plenty of guys out there that are good but don't have the right people or connections behind them.

I play a little bit & have even got paid to play on a stage once. I think anyone that can play pretty decent has talent & if they can play & sing look out. When I try sing it throws my timing off on my playing so I know who hard it is to pull it off & make it look easy.

I love the song. I love the Wilson sisters.

However, I saw an interview with them about this video and their career around that time. Ann had started to gain weight and their label was pushing Nancy to the front while simultaneously pushing her cleavage into the camera. Both of them resented that whole period when the hits had slowed down so the executives tried to sex up their act.

No matter. Whether they were on the charts or not, they've never done a bad album. Have I posted some Lovemongers before? I don't remember. Here's their version of Papa Was A Rolling Stone:

Of course, the title track of that album is worthwhile, too. I think I had that album on repeat for 6 months when it first came out. The track was also used for the movie Singles:

    Man I loved this song.
Speaking of albums I left on repeat for long periods, if that Quarterflash album had been on vinyl I would have definitely worn it out. Howevermuch I loved Harden My Heart, though, I really liked Williams Avenue better. I guess I just love all those long instrumental breaks, including that lovely sax of hers.

It's funny why some songs stick in your head. Back in the very early 1980s, The Metro was in heavy rotation on MTV.
