    To All,

As my friends here know, I'm a Presiding Election Judge in Bexar County.

Governor Abbott, imVho, NEEDS to have every voting precinct's voter roll checked CAREFULLY for those who have moved, died or simply aren't eligible to vote.
(Personally, I believe that every Election Officer on my team of EO would volunteer to help CLEAN-UP the county's rolls.)

    yours, satx

I thought it was the county clerks job to make sure all election rolls were updated and accurate?

I've also been quietly doing my protesting at the ballot box.. Also O'Rourke's campaign contacted me by TEXT message today.

    Darkpriest667,

In OUR county, we have an Election Administrator, who operates (at least semi-independently) from the County Clerk.

To do this RIGHT, imo, we need NON-partisan people (rather than a bunch of uber-partisan DIMocRATS) cleaning up the voter rolls & under the supervision of the Secretary of State's office.

    yours, satx

I mean a drivers license isn't enough in my opinion... Sorry, but it's WAY too easy to get one. Why don't we have voter ID cards like most countries?

I escaped from California in May and the 1st thing I did was obtain a Texas drivers license and get my truck registered.

The lady at the DPS asked me if I wanted to register to vote and I said yes. A week later I received a yellow voter ID card. Doesn't everyone need this to vote here?

Note that she didn't ask me for proof of citizenship.

I had to show my Oregon license, birth certificate and proof of residence to get my Texas drivers license in 2013 and at that time was asked if I wanted to register to vote, so they already verified my citizenship. Not sure what it would take just for voter registration.

They were supposed to get more information than just a California license before you could get one in Texas. That's part of the regulations that were tightened up several years back to verify citizenship. Especially for someone coming from a state that gives drivers licenses to illegal aliens.

What would happen if you took a day or 2 off from work?

I am the only income of a family of 4. Two days of missing work would mean a bill(s) wouldn't get paid or food on the table. Plus my wife has medical needs that are necessary for her to be on this earth. But there's assistant programs out there, you may say. Yeah and I have looked into that, we have been denied every one. So yeah, there are some out there that HAS to work every day.

FWIW, I had the newer "Real ID" license. Mine had the "Bear" symbol; Texas has the 5-Pointed Star which my new one also has.

I agree that in all cases, proper documentation needs to be provided for such an important function as voting. Cali has gone way over the tipping point. There are cities there which now allow illegals to vote in local elections for instance.

    ....

I hadn't heard of this before. So if you had a "real" ID, did the "undocumented residents" have a fake one? Or what does Kali call the other than real ID?

Real ID was something lots of folks ran around with their hair on fire about a few years ago. If you want to indulge in conspiracy theories, it's still a valid jumping-off point.

benenglish provided the link in the above post as I was going to. It basically shows that you will need to use your "real id" for federal purposes such as boarding a domestic flight or filling out a 4473.

I had a Really good fake ID when I was 19. I was very careful about which one to show a policeman and which one to show to a stop-and-rob clerk.

I don't know why we are not protesting in the streets about this and all the other BS. And I really don't want to hear that we have jobs and families that keep us from doing it, because that is nothing more than excuse to do nothing.

I wish that someone with some organizational skills would take an interest this.
Your time would be better spent earning extra money to send to your favorite lobbyist orgs or volunteering for them. Protesting at best does nothing; at worst it alienates you.

Thanks Ben. I had forgotten about the can't get on a plane without one angle. Seems like it was delayed several times and then they just stopped talking about it (media likely didn't want to admit the left leaning states had to concede on this)
