Bought one of the oil extractor dealios to enable me to do a top-end oil change. Both my Ram Ecodiesel and my wife's BMW X5 diesel have access to the oil filter from the top-end, so I can do the oil and filter changes on them myself, as I can't get down on the ground.

The extractor I bought is the 15 Liter version made by Extoil. Tube down through the dipstick tube and it readily sucks ALL the oil out . . . of course it helps to warm up the vehicle somewhat first. Absolutely one of the easiest oil changes I've ever done . . . and I've done lots of them prior to my injury. Saves a good bit of money too, as the dealer wants a couple benjamins for the same service and I can buy the 3gallons of Rotella T6 and a filter replacement cartridge for about $75 all in.

Did an oil change and spark plugs to boot on the Xterra.

Lost a spark plug and a deep socket down the back of the motor. The #6 plug is on the back of the motor. You can't see it even with a mirror. I dug around and moved my magnet on a stick for an hour. Could not find either. Hoping they drop out when I leave. Dang plugs are $13.

The first time took me 20 minutes for that rear plug. This one 2 hours. I guess the first time was beginners luck. All five of the other ones take 15 minutes or less. It takes a 6" extension on a deep socket, then a universal swivel, then a 12" extension on the ratchet. It's a major pain.

Now I need to plan a road trip.

What about them are you not happy about? Do you have any rub or is it just not enough grunt?

Plenty of grunt, but I get some rub at certain angles so it's purely my setup at this point. One of my alignment points is rusted and locked in place. I need break out the mini sledge and go to work to see if I can get a better wheel position out of it.

    Grrr....

I did a second coat of chain wax and I guess I got some on me. I keep smelling chain wax and I've washed my hands and arms three times. Didn't work. I can still smell the chain wax.

Lol, it's not that bad of smell. It's definitely isn't aftershave but I've smelled some aftershaves that smell worse.

That truck got its ass back. I did a SICK burn out coming out of the local college. I mean....it was just dirt nasty. It was climbing fast past 95, so I backed out at 100 satisfied with my work. I think my Frontier may have a contender. For now though - back to granny driving the Taco around.

Expecting to r/r the driver side front wheel hub/bearing on the F150 this weekend. Still need to confirm what I suspect, but all things indicate the bearings are starting to come from together.

Future projects consist of replacing the brakes on the Taco, upgrading the brakes on the Midnight, relocating the trailer harness plug from under my bumper to in my bumper, installing bug-flector and wind visors on Midnight, and figuring out how to remove a completely dry rotted clear bra on the Taco.

I did find out one cool thing - on my Midnight Edition Frontier, they gave me a custom rim for the spare instead of the stock steel spare. I'm going to get a tire cover on it and hope it stays protected. Luckily, this is a street queen, so I don't have the rocks to worry about.

Having a 40-gallon transfer tank installed in the pickup as we speak. I had nicknamed my old ‘91 Cummins my “Fleet Oiler”, since I’d had a 100-gallon transfer tank mounted in that badboy. So today, the 2015 Ram is christened “Fleet Oiler II”.

Good news; it’s not the driver side front. It’s the passenger side front.

Not that it makes the job any easier. But, at least it’s confirmed.

    Hopefully it’ll be a 1-hr job.

Demonstrated some finger exercises to some lady that doesn't understand that a motorcycle can stop a lot quicker then a car.

The universal signal for stop tailgating. Otherwise you'll kill me by running me over.

I had commented on this car earlier this year after I smoked the engine on my Mercedes E55. I finally got it up and running. Total in so far is $165.

The car sat for nearly a year. Fresh used battery and It runs and drives. Rusty brakes came around. Flat spotted tires mostly fixed (shimmy from 60 to 65). Had a tick from the engine, fresh oil, filter and o-rings and the noise is gone. The filter stem is broken so I hobbled it back in.

Needs a full front end rebuild. Ball joints, drag link, bushings. Valve covers, rear main, trans pan, trans output shaft seal and all 3 diff seals leak.

    Radiator leaks.

Interior is rough. Missing and worn trims and panels.

    Top does not work.

Oh, ac compressor is junk. Wont pull the low side any lower then about 60psi. As a side note on this, a car with no AC sucks less then a motorcycle with full gear.

All in all it isn't that bad. At the dealer you would be looking at like 15k to fix it up. Cheaply done with no labor cost would probably require 3k.

After driving it for a couple weeks to make sure it is fairly safe I will be putting it on the auction block to help fund a motor for the race car.

After rolling through a water leak today. I inspected where the dirty water went. What it splashed.

Conclusion; The tiny fender intergrated with the chain guard doesn't do $hit. It got removed. I wanna see the chain. If I get chain grease on the blue jeans I ware. Ill add a guard behind the existing guard on the peg.

Tightened the throttle cables. The manual says to leave some play. B.S.. You can tighten it until theres tension on the throttle grip. You move the grip, the engine responds instantly. No lag from play in the throttle cable.

    I can't do the slack.
