Why would you hate that? A motorcycle forum doesn't compete with a gun forum. That said, many love to shoot and they created a gun classified because it was so popular. My guess is some like myself are members of both.

Most cycles will be able to beat most cars off the line. Merging onto the freeway was never an issue on the TMax or the Burgman. If you want to pass 3 cars doing 85MPH, perhaps a T100 is not what you should be looking at? I dunno what my F800R puts out but it is fast enough for my needs in the way I ride it. Any of the new bikes are pretty "refined", even the HD's. :peace:

I recommend the T120 and an extinguisher for the trash can on fire.

I ditched a 2016 Vulcan S 650cc after a year Motor screaming at 6,000rpm/80mph no passing power, the $7,000.00 bike turned into $12,000.00 after trying to modify it to be something it was not I traded up.

    Prior to the S I had a Vulcan 500...

My last Suzuki boulevard was exactly like that. The previous boulevard was faster. The first was a S40, 850cc single cylinder .The second was 50cubic inch, 2 cylinder. Before those it was a Yamaha 250 enduro.

The boulevard M50 was exhausting to ride on the highway. You felt stuck in traffic. Trying to pass a semi to get out the backwash was a pain. 45 horsepower was it.

Around here, the average speed is 45mph. The highway exiting town is 80mph. People drive between 85-90mph. So when you get on the freeway. It's book it up to speed. My current bike can cruise like it's nothing. 75hp.

Ha, I caught your unedited response in my email.
It is a forum, hence my response to you and to the OP.

The OP started the topic and wanted some advice so I replied. Go for a ride dude, leave the keyboard for a bit.

Already went on a ride and I don't have a keyboard. I need to rack up miles for the break in. The second oil change is coming quick. While I was out, I stopped by the dealership and looked at a T100. It's a small bike. Looks bigger in pictures. I'd rather have a Grom.

You'll be too pissed off you got a 900cc to care. Swing by a dealer and actually look at it. It's not real small but it definitely is not big.

The best advice is to buy used for your first bike, you will drop it, it’s a rite of passage

I'm 5'8" 230. Don't let the '900cc' fool you. It's a low level engine size for standard bikes. A 1100 up would suit you better. Don't look at it as a beginner bike. Look at it as what lane of bike. At 900cc, it's a first lane. Also known as the slow lane. It's how the manufacturers category power levels of models of bikes.

Now if you weighed 180....never mind. You'd still think it was slow and acceleration. Looks pretty though. Lots of shine against a black frame.

Kinda random but I remember back when I was in high school we were talking with our engineering teacher and he was a Harley rider. He talked about in stand-still traffic he’d go on the shoulder or between cars. He said his bike would overheat just sitting there. We laughed and pointed out “yeah the cops can’t get you because they’d be stuck in traffic too” personally I hate when bikers weave through cars in heavy traffic. Too dangerous!

Texas doesn't recognize Lane Splitting. It's illegal passing. It is being lobbied for the Texas government to recognize it and make it legal.

There's reasons for it. Studies show that it lowers traffic congestion and lowers bikers getting rear ended while standing in line with cars. Rules to it, no lane splitting above 30mph. Once you get a bike. You'll better understand the why to it. Somethings make you feel like a ripe tomato between two hard rocks.

    IIRC they did pass it.
Triumph trans are junk, cast gears that break easy.

It is really not, you could be cited for failure to ride in a single marked lane.
