So, being a very part-time driver for Uber, I dont use it to make money. I use it to look at pretty college girls (I'm and old fart, but still have some Mojo) and listen to what young people in a liberal collage town near me have to say. I am subtle about it, but I figure I might as well become a "spy" of sorts, in the land of fruits and nutz.

Anyhow a few weeks back I am picking up a woman around late 40's-early 50's. Can't really tell what her race was, but she wasnt Mexican and spoke very good English.
Turns out she is Iraqi. That doesnt bother me at all. She was polite so it was good.

Then she says she didn't like a state in the South (not Texas) as she claimed that when people there found out she was Iraqi, they thought she had a vest-bomb on her. Yeah, she could have been making it up but sounded sincere enough to me. Never entered my mind in fact and if she did, well I guess I wouldnt be posting this here.

Anyhow, tip your Uber and Lyft drivers who do need the money. Here in KA, they often dont even make minimun wages. Maybe next time I can tell you what I see and hear college girls do and say, when papa and momma ain't around!:green:

I drive for a private company and signed a NDA to not say what I hear in the car. I have spoke to some Uber guys and they don't seem to make a ton. The idea of someone getting drunk and throwing up in my personal car would turn me off.
I drive down a certain popular street here cuz it is flowing with hawties. Downtown is not too shabby either.

I laugh at you (more like with you) now but someday I’ll be the old pervert.

Around Ft Hood and Austin, I hear quite a few do pretty good driving for Uber. As a supplemental income after retirement, it wouldn't be too bad.
As someone that drove a taxi at night around FT Hood in the '70s, sometimes you don't want to know what people are talking about in the back seat.

In the late 80's a friend of mine owned a limo service and I would moonlight as a driver for him. Now that can be some real pervert driving there, like the night these women got together to take one of their woman friends out for her birthday party.....

Lots of drivers I’ve spoken with don’t take vehicle depreciation into account, they just look at fuel and maintenance costs.

Driving is a tough gig, especially when the company you drive for is investing billions in automated technology that’s designed to replace you.

I did have a cellphone with me, I hated lugging that heavy suitcase of a phone though, and the only thing it would do is make phone calls.

Uber wants you to have a car with 4 doors, and be unarmed. So I'm out twice already.

I am armed, so thats not an issue. I dont go anywhere without a couple of blades
and some bear spray. I stay away from the "hoods" over in the large cities. When I did make night deliveries in the hellhole of the SF Bay Area, I always packed heat too.
