On another thread, an unidentified individual picked out an incident where a security guard killed an individual attempting a robbery on a Whataburger.

He quoted this incident as validation to carry everywhere.

Let's examine this, ....first off, this reminds me SO much of the leftist nutcases taking one little incident to prove why ALL guns need to be banned . Had the security guard been killed , they would be all over this. But, THIS proves why you gotta carry in the shower????

Sorry, folks, but sanity resides somewhere in the middle. As much as the anti-gun faction is out of touch with reality, so is this.

OK.....so mr. Hero Carry is in the restaurant , ( which by the way, seemed to work out well without Lone Ranger wannabes .)

Soooo, as long as we are fantasizing about extremely unlikely circumstances, and their outcome, let me insert this for your consideration:

Security guard takes out bad guy. Contrary to his hero fantasy , security guard sees armchair quarterback with a gun, and perceives him as a second perp. Boom!....ooops!

See...carrying a gun doesn't always mean SAVING your life.

    .....just saying....something to think aboit

I have no idea what kind of point you're trying to make, but you best believe I'm bringing my gun to the bathroom:

I pressed 'Like' on your original post. Give you a dose of dopamine. I can only press it once or I'd load you up.

    Oh wait, there's two....

Another dose on the second post.

The way I see it is this. I have a license from the State of Texas allowing me to do so. I have received some training albeit I need more. I have the means and ability to carry a gun to aid in defense of my life and my family's lives.

I fully well acknowledge that a concealed pistol is not a magic wand. My LTC is not a Batman license. I have to keep my head on straight and do my very best to avoid being in a bad situation. Sometimes our best isn't good enough.

Ultimately my personal defense is up to me. I cannot count on a cop or security guard being present to do it for me.

I have often seen the figure that there are approximately 1,000,000 defensive gun uses a year nationwide. Even if the number is half of that, it's not an unheard of occurrence. I know the chance of me ever having to use it is very low.

Why do I carry a gun? Because it's easy to conceal and I'd damned sure rather have a chance to avoid having my ticket punched when the conductor comes around.

I've eaten coconut shrimp in the same building those people died. 1991. I can remember where I was seeing DPS mustangs haul a$$ to Killeen. I've seen the evidence video of the scene in police academy.

Why is that history being dug up?

Ummmm, yeah, even if it means COSTING you your life?

You seem to be creating scenarios that posters aren’t describing. Or making assumptions about their intentions which they haven’t hinted at in any way.

You would probably be taken more seriously if you took their posts as face value instead of attaching a motive, situation, or outcome that fits the argument you are trying to make.
