You obviously don't know me

Hello, Texas born, raised, and gun lover.

I am NOT a troll. I would much rather make people laugh, than tee them off.
It takes awhile for people to really understand me online, but not long in real life.

I recently started a thread I said " I'm not here to make friends " for the title. What that meant was, I'm not going to fabricate my posts to pander to the forum population. In other words, I calls them as I sees them.

SOB! While I was typing, George knocked my beer off the nightstand. If I could teach those little rats one word, it would be NO!!!!! Wadda gonna do, frigging mini dogs....but I digress .

In that thread, which I was totally misunderstood and my shit twisted around and read into ways that defy logic, a statement was made, and verified by another member. Besides me being disappointed with this forum's ability to comprehend , I was stung by the comment.

Loosely quoted: "Why is this guy here on a gun forum?" Followed by "IDK".

EXCUSE THE **** OUT OF ME!!!! I love guns, and have been playing with them since I was a kid. Nowhere in TEXAS GUN TALK's title does it say Concealed Carry only, AR owning, SHTF preppers only, all else need not apply.

It's shit like that that bothers me.

I have seen you brag about driving drunk, directly insult a well respected moderator, and start an argument in almost every thread you are involved in.

Sloppy, some advice:

it’s the web. I’m all about being friendly and making friends off here but it’s still just a gun board. Worry about you. Have a good time. Stop getting stressed out over people you haven’t met in person.

Do some self reflection. It’s not a weakness and it won’t hurt your pride. I’m not proud of a few times I lashed out a couple members, even as much as I can justify it. Also ask yourself what are we about to debate or argue about? If it’s pretty stupid, then don’t post in the thread.

Lastly, I disagree with those of you who say sloppy is trolling. (I just read a claim that says otherwise) He’s just annoying some of you. It’s not like you all gotta be pals. I’m sure at some point we have all been a wise ass or made a comment that was rude, and to that I say did you ask yourself if you were trolling? To me trolling is 100 percent negative comments and even so I think it’s funny we need mods. Grown ass adults need mods. It’s also easy to read a persons post how we want and not how the poster intended.

If I am in a thread 99% of the time I have read all the posts from 1 on have not seen him act as if he were a troll, granted I have not read every post on the forum and sometimes go a week or so and not on nor read (due to business travel).

He is an OK guy far as I am concerned as are a 100% of the folks on here. Sure some and all sometime wake up and its not a good day and they may take it out, but it all works out ok...

Thank you. I know I need to check myself at times. I sometimes have a hard time expressing what I want to online, and seems like every time I turn around, someone IS reading something into my posts that is not intended, and unless twisted, not there.

The beer was nearly empty, and warm. I only sip beer, so it gets warm. I rotate 2 between the nightstand and refrigerator, so one is cold when I want a sip.

That's ok, I got him back without knowing it. I forgot about a mouse trap I had set in the kitchen, and it was tripped this morning. Bet that stung. Then again, maybe that's why he spilled my beer.

Anyway, I'm on this forum because I came here with a question, and stayed because I liked the members. I've bought 2 or 3 guns since I joined. I enjoy jerking the strings of those that get it, and try to stay away from those that don't.

Sloppy, your sense of humor isn't always apparent. Dry humor tends to be harder to identify online. Sometimes it comes off as abrasive.

Once I figured that out your posts became easier to understand. It seems at least half are a wisecrack or ironic humor. Not everyone gets that kind of humor.

But wanted to let you know I get it. Sometimes.
