Small 1911 style hand gun. Come used as police surplus from Spain. Full metal, really heavy. Just finished cleaning it for range shooting.

CDNN has magazines for that. .40 & 9mm use the same mag. From an internet article:
There is one good warning not included in the manuals. Use some caution when stripping these pistols. The safety lever is only prevented from over-rotating by the grip panels. If they are removed for cleaning or maintenance, the safety can be rotated too far, and the the detent plunger will fly out. This is a very, very, small part and will almost certainly become lost. The safety lever is very important to the safe operation of the gun, so use caution not to lose the detent pin. If you do loose this part, a very tiny ball bearing can replace it perfectly well, but good luck getting ahold of one. Oh yeah, & check to see if the magazine disconnect is still there.

Look on the bottom by the Magazine to see what model it is, look like a BM. I have one and love it.

E-Bay has a couple of magazine options, I have only ever bought factory Star mags, so I cannot say of the others are worth it. I do have some aftermarket for my Llama .380 that work and the Triple k mags I saw look promising .

Just emptied the first magazine. 10 yards at 18x12 target. First 2 shots were off and the rest are all where I wanted.

Pretty accurate. The trigger is really really light and the pull is very short. Once you get used to it it is a fun gun.

The BM and BKS are commander sized. The BKS is a touch longer and has an allow frame. The PD is the .45ACP version.

I hope you understand that plenty of folks would like the same info.

Drop over to the good deals thread and post away. Links to businesses are normal in that context.

In fact, links to businesses are fine anywhere as long as you're not shilling for them. The no-advertising rules basically apply to people who set up accounts to spam the board without paying to become a sponsor. Unaffiliated TGT members who just want to share a good place to buy something are fine, even encouraged.

    Congrats on your Star OP!

For over 30 years my brother bragged on his 2 full sized stars. Me, being a Big gun snob at the time would not even consider having a lowly $200 gun in MY safe.

Well about 12-15 years ago I came across a new Star at a good price and bought it since my snobbishness had worn down quite a bit.

Boy had I been missing out! What a sweetheart of a gun. As soft shooting as a Beretta 92 or more and just feels more comfortable in my had as well.

I should have listened to my older brother.

BTW - I’m still a gun snob, just not a BIG one anyone.
