So true. One of the first things I change out. Handguard and stock. It doesn't matter if I get a good deal on an AR, they always end up costing me about a grand each.

Unless you know a weldor. I built mine that is much better for about $120. The biggest cost is the paddles (Amazon), the angle iron, channel and pipe will depend on who you buy it from. Just a thought, you may be able to have one built cheaper.
If you look closely you can see I have the angle bolted to the base for easier movement.
I always want a stainless P229r and there palmetto state armory is selling the stainless elite p229r for 699 shipped. I don’t care much for the beaver tail but do like the short reset trigger. Unfortunately I have to wait for Xmas.
