Grassley: "I’m extending the deadline for response yet again to 10 o’clock this evening. I’m providing a notice of a vote to occur Monday in the event that Dr. Ford’s attorneys don’t respond or Dr. Ford decides not to testify."

These are serious accusations of a serious crime. The Senate should subpoena the accuser and force her to testify under oath to get this investigation started. They want to get to the bottom of this caper right? So she should have no problem making those statements under oath. For Great Justice, Move Zig!

If it turns out she is being maliciously untruthful, she should be buried underneath the prison until Kavanaugh's term as a Supreme Court justice is over.

First off, I've only heard allegations of a teenager trying to get into the pants of another teenager, not an actual rape. If that was a high crime half the male teenagers in the country would be locked up. Next, that is not the job of the FBI to investigate inappropriate behavior of something that hasn't been proven to have happened 36 years ago. The only reason this has become an issue is that Kavanaugh was nominated by Trump, period.

Anybody hear if Ford’s lawyers met the 10pm deadline to submit a written copy of her remarks and the bio, that was required. I’m guessing they didn’t, so this should wrap things up so the subcommittee can take their vote on Monday. (Assuming Grassley doesn’t back pedal any more).

Did Grassley really agree to that? If so, he’s just told the US that any weak allegation made by any citizen can now control the US Senate agenda.

Looks like Grassley hasn’t agreed yet to the requested additional day delay (per the link above); but he also didn’t deny it either! However it does appear he’s still negotiating with Ford’s lawyers.

“An announcement for a Monday hearing listed it as postponed as of Friday night.”

So it doesn’t look like Grassley is quite ready to put a fork in it yet and call it “done”.

Grassley grants Kavanaugh accuser another extension

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley late Friday night granted another extension to Christine Blasey Ford to decide on whether she will testify to the committee.

The new deadline was unclear, but Ford had requested that a 10 p.m. ET Friday deadline be extended until Saturday

I agree; at this point, they’re just making themselves look foolish.

Could be wrong BUT my personal belief is, this “lady” will not ever testify under oath. The perjury risk is just too great. Her testimony isn’t likely to block Kavanaugh’s confirmation so there’s only downside risk for her - nothing for her to gain. The Democrats know this - she’s just a pawn to be used in their game.

I would also add, without being too cynical, if the GOP is trying to avoid a verbal political firestorm from the Lefties by continuing with these little incremental delays, they won’t be successful. There’s nothing they [GOP] can do OR not do, that will subdue those verbal attacks, they’re going to happen, regardless!

If they don’t allow extensions, they’ll be attacked. If they do allow extensions, they’ll be attacked. (Longer time extensions should have been granted, more documents were needed, more people needed to testify, on and on...).
