Cruz did well. The basic immigration, taxes, 2a rights, came up. My favorite was Beto saying he supports the second amendment and the audience let out a really good laugh.
Ted did a good job saying why he’s proud to be a republican. That it’s republicans who always get the important changes done and he’s right. Everything else was lightly talked about. Beto just didn’t perform well. And yes, the compliment at the end to Beto was great. Telling him even if he wants socialism and all the wrong things at least Beto like Bernie, believes in it. Lol
Cruz did miss the opportunity when Beto talked about cotton gins and workers. Shoulda said he didn't think Beto was >100yrs old. Cotton picking is in a/c tractors and the gins are computer controlled since the 70's. Guess I could run one or push buttons.

Lots of people keep track of nothing and think bob is an “outsider”. For those uninformed souls it is likely that learning the Beto message will steer them away.
Otherwise, the Uber left will like Beto and anyone center, center right, or right will go to Cruz.

I was trying to eat while watching the debate, had a hard time trying not to choke when Beto spoke on how much he supports the police and the 2nd Amendment and dodge around the question of kneeling during the national anthem.
Cruz annihilated him.
I think you're exactly right. Politics have become so polarized that it's a rare person who listens to the candidate's platform and decides who to vote for. Unfortunately, I rarely find myself in that category. The general party platforms have made it very difficult for me to respectively listen to the other side's individual.
